  1. I totally agree. An outfield of Rosario, Buxton, Kepler would have erased a bunch of runs on the two flys that Grossman let fall for doubles. Just not enough range. Berrios sure could have used better d behind him, including Escobar's limited range that turned an out into a RBI single and Centeno launching a rocket into left field.
  2. Play players out of position day. Sano not playing third...... again. Sure way to get better.
  3. I think I covered the bases loaded part. The walks were pinched (standard rookie hazing by umpire) and the wild pitch was catchable.... yes, he was struggling, but there was more to the story than the traditional stat line was the point.
  4. Yup. Kintzler came in with the score 13-4 in the 9th, bases loaded with two outs, and gave up a two run single on a first pitch meatball in support of the rookies' debut. Chargois did let the first 3 cross the plate, though.
  5. May has a glass back? Seems he needs to figure out some specific exercises for it regardless of whether he continues to pitch out of the pen or starts. Never having been impressed with May.... I would be happy if they just moved on from him all together. It seems that folks like to leave out the inherited runs that Chargois' relief gave up when discussing his one and only appearance in the show. I think there were 3 on with two outs, and he didn't get the chance to finish the inning. I will have to look it up, though.
  6. I just wanted to see that in print twice. Homeward through the haze. ;-)
  7. Garver was runner up for the Johnny Bench collegiate catcher of the year award the year Turner won it. He has always hit better. Garver is the prospect.
  8. I saw the predicament coming when they traded Ramos! Mauer was destined to not last behind the plate, as all catchers share the same destiny.
  9. I hope so, too! But he needs to get the time at third for it to happen. Maybe I have blocked all the supportive posts of Sano being able to play outfield, then, as I internally dismissed them as not possibly being truthful or serious? I mean, how could they have been?
  10. If Plouffe hits the open market, my bet is a bargain 1 year contract under $5 mil and not signed until the start of spring training, or later, as the market waits him out. He was flashing that speed on the base paths last night!
  11. Park is not really that "younger". In fact, Park turned 30 to join Plouffe as old in July. ;-)
  12. Come on jimmer. Nobody has said or even inferred that Plouffe is garbage. Sometimes there are guys like Morneau or Sano that come along......
  13. Polanco could be a better hitter. Plouffe's .230-.240's average and declining homers? I don't really think that he will really be missed.
  14. If a ton of people means 3, Ryan, Antony, and Molitor (and I bet Molitor was just pretending), then OK. Maybe there were a couple more that believed it and weren't just being company homies. I am betting, as long as he gets the chances and the same time that Plouffe got, he will live long and prosper...... at least long enough until his move to first, and then he will be a better first baseman then, too.
  15. I too am hopeful about Gordon, but someone in org should give him special attention, lest he be unduly influenced by his older brother. If you grew up with an older brother, you might emphasize.
  16. Like political propaganda and spin, I make my own decisions and observations regardless of other's opinions. I have to consider that the mindtrust gave him virtually no third base work for a year and a half. Plus he is 23. Plus he is not so humble. Time will tell, but ONLY IF HE ACTUALLY PLAYS THIRD BASE! (sorry, using phone and site provides no italic option in this format.)
  17. One thing he could do with that good plate discipline (proof he can develop discipline.....) is to extend what he will swing at or waste, especially with two strike counts. Walks are fine, but with runners on base for him to drive in, a better mature hitter will touch the ball and foul even the close ball off and have confidence in himself that when the pitcher finally makes the mistake in a deep count, he drives the runs in instead of taking a Walks and getting stranded with the other runners on the next batter's failure.
  18. Sano's defense will improve greatly if he gets to play third base. He has shown flashes. Maturity, reps, discipline, focus, and a trusted mentor... and he will be fine.
  19. Regardless of some of Sano's adventures, especially those simple pop ups, I have seen him make too many super athletic plays to prove that a fine third baseman is there that just needs reps and maturity. I hope the next GM is smart enough to see that.
  20. Dozier would have reached out and had his glove at thigh level and then showed to ump his glove, and Santana would have been safe. Correa keeps his glove low and makes the tag. I hope Dozier watches and learns. Might be too much to ask, though.
  21. Maybe it time to trade a couple again. Aeeeeeee
  22. I like 29. Prime, power, and not 30 yet.
  23. Yes yes yes. I would love to see Polanco at short. I grow tired of Escobar's limited range and not so strong arm.
  24. I think he needs to practice running into walls in Rochester. Maybe he can play pepper bunt against the wall and practice bunting his own bounce backs too...... become one with the wall.... AND LEARN TO BUNT, TOO, for godsakes!
  25. Sano! He is gonna strike out. He doesn't need sent down to strikeout in AAA. I guess he gets the last laugh.
