    “Saying Jenkins definitely cost Minnesota a playoff berth would be impossible to prove.” Kinda like saying he wouldn’t have saved the decline is impossible to prove. Those last 3 weeks before they did sure were impressive. And now they bring up another utility guy. Just what this team needs, eh? A utility push.

    So did ALL 30 of Roger Maris’ 61 home runs in ‘61 that were hit in Yankee Stadium - all pulled and parked in the right field stands. He didn’t need Yankee Stadium for the 31 road homers, though.. And while he didn’t hit any to the left of second base, he earned them all, But i get off subject of the article…. I think the coolest part of Jenkins’ first homer was it hit the fair pole.

    Jenkins will always remember his first MLB homer - a fair pole dinger off Detroit’s relief ace, Zach McKinstry. They all count! You don’t get to chose who pitches to you.

    Just curious - why do you do that instead of joining current and watching replay for what you missed (if you want to see what you missed)?

    Can’t claim warning track on that misplay. They’ll come up with something during commercial break.

    15 games under still well within reach. SNAFU principle. Cleveland goes on a run to finish season, and Twins go full tank. Why they think post all-star Buxton is worth waiting for.is a mind——.

    That was a Keaschall blown catch, pure and simple, regardless of of who decided to set the lineup.

    First pitch meat, again. Still, how does Keaschall not catch that ball. Oh, it’s Keaschall, that’s why. Plouffe and Morneau can make excuses for any play. Blowpen in play. This team absolutely needs 8-10 runs a game to win.

    “Adams cannot continue struggling this badly at this point in the season and expect to maintain his spot on a team trying to fight its way into the postseason.” Apparently, on this team with Shelton managing, he can. In fact, over and over and over and over and over and over and over again and again and again.

    Twins tanking even against the A’s rag tag AAA hopefuls. Cleveland rattling off the wins. This seems to happen at the end of every season now. Buying or selling. I wouldn’t be surprised if now the Twins finish 10-15 games under .500 for the season, watching called 3rd strikes all the way.

    At this point in the season, with all the emotion and urgency, the only away to get a current hole in the lineup out of it, was for Buxton to go out with injury. A month and a half of desperation and hope that was failing miserably. This should be good news, as sad as it is.

    Unfortunately, the best thing that could happen to this team right now is for Buxton to go on IL and Jenkins gets called up.

    I really wouldn’t be surprised if at all if the pen blows this now.

    4 singles and batting well over .300 with the singles night. Hitting like that gets Arráez constantly traded and yet to get a him a multi-year contract. Go figure.

    What a waste of to not have Walker in the Show yet. Total waste. I know the pitch. But there is only now.

    I don’t think I have ever seen Buxton get beat to first on a 5-4-3 double play and beat to second to start another one and the same game - until this game. He definitely didn’t book it to first. Yes, it appears to be choosing the rare spots now, like the great full out diving catch this series. If he was hitting and just giving up a triple for a double or a double for a single, it would be enough. But when he isn’t really even having good at bats, he is starting to hurt the team. Really a sad finish to a remarkable first 3 1/2 months. I feel for him. He must feel it, too. 46.5 million (Lopez/Buxton/Correa) of the $109 team salary is a huge percentage to not be able to contribute.

    Wink wink. It doesn’t take much to “verify” an injury. Or extend a 15 day stay. Dead arm is an example. Verification of that is a pitcher just not “feeling right”, regardless of an MRI or other checks. Or a player saying my hip is still “not right”. Teams do it all the time. Especially those with talented depth. Dodgers are particularly deft at it. They do a lot of winking.
