  1. Hey! Is Berrios an ace? He's had 2 ace games!
  2. Absolutely not. It takes a couple years of consistent non injury top performance to be an ace. Remember when folks wanted to call Phil Hughes an ace during his one good year? I do. Not then. Not now. It could happen though. Time will tell. Plus.... I don't forget that Santana was caught cheating a little over 2 years ago. That just doesn't go away unless you just ignore it because he is now on your team and doing perhaps as good as he has ever been. I am really surprised his partially torn ACL is still holding up without the juice. It is impressive. I am really happy for his success, and I am all for second chances...... but the past still counts, too. Just ask Roger and Barry and Mark and ..........
  3. The Mets, with all their pitching problems, are letting this guy go. And the Twins, bathing in new front office wisdom, use a 40 man roster spot? This makes me vomit.
  4. Pretender. They could get lucky, though. Pitching pitching pitching. Kintzler is the biggest pretender in a most important role. Triple A roster looks so unremarkable. This is the rebuild (that really never was) in the show now. And it came with no pitching.
  5. Soooo...... it was Berrios' day to start on Saturday..... and the Twins chose Tepesch instead. We know how that went........
  6. Please forgive my stream of consciousness delivery. I did not mean for mound height to be anything but an aside with some info. Seemed clear to me. Sorry it was confusing to you. Not my intention. I just make comments on my feelings. I don't mind the bullying for inferred stupidity that it might bring. I don't take it personally. I just make a few comments now and then.
  7. I believe Chase Utley on the Dodgers is worse at this time, if that is any concession.
  8. One can be onboard and still notice things that are happening. It doesn't have to be twisted into a condemnation.
  9. Buxton is not mentally strong. Actions are screaming at anybody paying attention. I sure hope they don't draft high schooler Hunter Greene. I have been watching 3 of his games so far in Sherman Oaks @ Notre Dame HS. The mound there is at least 15 inches high. I fear another immature headcase. Buxton head is a mess.
  10. How many strikeouts looking? Walks can be expensive. It seems that our bats, including Sano, are missing the mistakes right down the middle. Our pitchers seem to not be so lucky with the opposition bats. I guess it is only a mistake if the batter hits it?
  11. I get your ironic humor! Seriously, it is funny for the sake of funny. No problem at all. And Buxton..... he sure is having fun swinging the bat at least. I am glad he has decided to have more fun and not take the expectations so seriously.
  12. I just can't believe Santana instead of Park. I guess let Park cool off before given a chance to redeem himself. 13 pitchers. So when your pitchers suck, just have one more? More suck?
  13. The only thing I like less than the pen...... is the rotation. Relief will not really be in the Twins fan's vocabulary. Santiago is to be the number two starter. And Hughes and his historically horrid opening month will be attempting his comeback. Lots of relief will be needed, but I don't see it coming. A magic pen now wins championships. I do not subscribe do the claim that a pen is easy to throw together. Nor keep.
  14. Seems a fitting expectation to think Sano could be/should be getting better and be more focused by now. 24 isn't that young anymore. Certainly improvement is expected.
  15. Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks is minutes away from where I live! Their season starts soon. Hey glunn, do you want to join me and catch Hunter Greene before he has Tommy John surgery? I think I will catch a couple high school games.
  16. Unfortunately, the Twins can't offer a clubhouse leader a realistic chance of playing in October. It isn't always about more money, especially when the clock is ticking.
  17. Seems like a setback to me. By definition.
  18. I love this move. I like any move these days. This was a 103 loss team! There is hardly any move that could not be an improvement, and this is a minor minor move, so hard to not give it a "may as well". Abad - super lucky in Minnesota and fools gold. Kintzler is too. Especially in the closers roll.
  19. Are alternate facts an alternative to alternative facts?
  20. The Abad trade becomes worthless, not that it had much hope anyway. How about the improvement to the pitching staff this off season?
  21. How horrible in April becomes a horrible pitcher is also beyond me. Yikes.
  22. 265, eh? I thought that what it was said he came into camp at last year. A loss of 15 lbs would be 250 with my alternative math. I think the pic is photoshopped for promotion and propaganda. Amazingly how much some can surmise with him sitting down. Time will tell.
  23. Why Hughes EVER starts a season starting is beyond me. Other than one season in his whole career, he has been HORRIBLE in April. Never ready. The season he wasn't horrible, he wasn't remarkable either. So Hughes to the bullpen. If the Twins get lucky, maybe they will find lightning in a bottle. I don't like the pitching staff at all.
  24. If the prospects become MLB players.......... there will be a lot of crow to eat. But yowser.......... the pitching sure does suck. All of it.
