  1. I guess the FO is still a mystery, eh?
  2. Garver sure is playing a lot of left field. Hard to get better behind the plate from left field. Levi Michael is now playing center field and still in AA. It is amazing he has never been released. Talk about career a minor leaguer. I wonder what the long term plan is..........
  3. Turley's best gambit would be to play in Korea or Japan, Make some money, and hope he really can cross the line into the MLB. Regardless of how he does in AAA, he is not there yet. It was painfully obvious after the first two starts. This one was on the FO. My cat could even tell.
  4. Getting behind so far so fast....... this team tends to take the day off - like an NBA team behind in the regular season by 25 toward the end of the 3rd quarter. As many runs and as horrible as he was, even if they did give him 5 runs of run support a game, they would have lost.
  5. The Dodgers. Maybe 9.
  6. I needed a good laugh. Thanks for that.
  7. Santana has pitched to an over 7 era in June. I don't think he makes it. I wouldn't select him if the inconsistency continues. April was amazing, but one month does not an all star, or an ace, make. Unfortunately for Dozier, fans are a horrible way to select the all star team, and they never consider the second half of the previous season, like they should. Sano is it, I bet. And perhaps rightfully so. If Berrios or Santana are lights out the rest of the starts up to the pitchers' selection, either one might get the call.
  8. Yup. It will take a lot more bat than .230 to ever be called the best overall center fielder. Mays' stick was one of the best ever in the game, and not just all center fielders.
  9. Wasn't the successful September last year with the leg lift/kick?
  10. AL Central Standings Cleveland 37-32 Twins 35-33 (-1.5) Kansas City 34-36 (-3.5) Detroit 32-37 (-5) Chicago 31-38 (-6) Here comes KC!!!
  11. Since May 7th, Santana's starts were horrible, great, bad, great, very good, horrible, great, very bad, very bad. ERA for June is over 7. That the season's ERA is under 3 is a testament to just how great he started. He seemed to get all Gibson's runs this game.
  12. After the incredible start, he has been very inconsistent, with great/very good performances alternating with terrible performances. Overall still good, but coming back to normal, 2-3-4 pitcher, depending on the day.
  13. I don't know if this a rhetorical question or not, but if not, the answer is striking out about 40% of the time for three different AA or AAA teams/organizations in 114 at bats and 30 games and batting .193
  14. No reality check needed for me. I was expecting Hughes, Santiago, and Belisle to be part of the problem, and Perkins will add to it when they obligatorily include him for some horrible innings. I was expecting Gibson to rebound and be better, and the bullpen to be horrible, and still expect Kintzler to totally blow up, especially if he keeps being used in the 9th. I was expecting the young position players to be better, (except ambivalence toward Buxton and his batting). I was expecting Sano to man 3rd adequately, and Berrios to shine. For this team to be around .500 with this pitching that was basically ignored and not addressed by the mostly absent new front office tandem in the off season, I think, it is indicative of how they really are ready now. I despise every year being not the year to try, and folks accepting that is just the way it is and has to be. Watching strange career minor league lifers get the call to pitch is disgusting. Do I have the answers? Probably. But they would need to pay me to get them.
  15. I think both Santiago and Hughes are cooked. Even planning on them contributing in the off season was misguided. No, would be my answer. None of the above, even. Perkins, too. Waiting for Perkins to contribute ever again to our advantage will be folly.
  16. If you aren't trying to win, why even play? May as well just take the season off, eh? All future and no now. The endless concession. Where the unacceptable becomes the normal. Yuk.
  17. Only the Dodgers can just keep adding and adding another starter. It is like a new unwritten rule, apparently.
  18. Sorry. I could be dead by then. I think this is a horrible attitude when you are in first place and "in the playoffs" in the middle of June! This kind of attitude never wins championships, but always looks to the rosy future. The Cubs weren't "ready" last year either, until they were. Nobody is ready, until they are, and what makes them ready, is that they get in the playoffs and start/keep winning. There is a reason that other teams jettisoned Turley and Wilk after more investment and patience than the Twins have had to invest. If you are just waiting for next year, or some other year, like the Nats when they didn't use Strasburg - how has that worked out? - you will be a Connie Mack competitive but no World Series titles. Yeah. Chill. How about heating up?
  19. Right! I was yelling at the screen.... NOOOOOOOOOO. Another point in the not jumping to either conclusion, yet.
  20. Pretty close to the age of being called career minor leaguers..............
  21. Exactly. Can we quit jumping to conclusions that this is a good draft, yet? Nothing but opinion so far. And Hunter Greene will be pitching for the Reds.
  22. First pitch. Base hit. Pressly is back.
