  1. Total drag. I have to see Colon in LA on Monday! Perhaps a 2 game rental. What a joke. Wait all year for these games and Falvey and Levine gives me Colon! The only good news would be he retires or leaves the Twins. Looks like the Twins will miss Kershaw (in rotation to pitch Sunday), and one of Wood or Hill. Hard to say yet with the all the Dodger pitchers available exactly who will go on what day, but Kershaw will not be pitching against the Twins.
  2. Pretty lucky kid. Never had a job of any kind. 18 and doesn't have a driver's license. Pretty protected young man. But he knows how to work hard at playing. It seems to be working. His first job has paid him well so far (at least the signing bonus). May we all be so lucky and get to work hard at playing and our dreams. May he make me forget about Hunter Greene.......
  3. Could have used that hit last at bat........... with runners on...... instead of the K looking.
  4. Here comes the recent two hole sink hole....... put a rock in it.
  5. Gimenez can do it! Hell, he started Colon. This was a throw away game before it ever started.
  6. A month ago, and especially the day he signed the fat boy.
  7. I would pull Rosario in the middle of the inning, right there. I don't know how else he is going to get the message. What a pea brain.
  8. My as well let Pressly put on a runner to challenge the next guy.....
  9. Molitor's reward system. Escobar gets the key clutch pinch hit, and is rewarded with a rest the next game.
  10. A hitter's pitch and a walker's nightmare. I guess Grossman is a walker first and a hitter second.
  11. Molitor managing not to lose, instead of to win. All too common of an occurrence, now. First Colon, then Pressly. How many more runs will they give away for the sake of eating innings?
  12. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/68267610/mlb-institutes-new-rule-on-home-plate-collisions/ I am understanding that it is a clear path to the plate, or a lane. Not necessarily the outside lane. I think catchers might be better off standing just behind the plate. The ball moves faster in the air than it does in the glove with a blind swipe tag attempt. Then the runner cannot initiate contact with the catcher either, because he still has a lane to the plate. The ball may hit the runner, at times, but most of the time the catcher will be able to see the play better and see where to get the tag down. Dozier, with a straight in slide, feet first - the standard baseball slide that is taught to all even at the most rudimentary levels - like the slide Mauer always uses - would have beat the tag. He can make contact with the catcher there. Sliding by the plate and reaching over.... that was the extra time the catcher needed. "Runners are not required to slide, and catchers in possession of the ball are allowed to block the plate. However, runners who do slide and catchers who provide the runner with a lane will never be found in violation of the rule." "If the runner slides into the plate in an appropriate manner, he shall not be adjudged to have violated Rule 7.13. A slide shall be deemed appropriate, in the case of a feet first slide, if the runner's buttocks and legs should hit the ground before contact with the catcher. In the case of a head first slide, a runner shall be deemed to have slid appropriately if his body should hit the ground before contact with the catcher."
  13. Assigning feelings to me. Perhaps projection? I call foul and against the TD rules. I don't have to have a reason. I think this makes the Twins a side show, and it sucks.
  14. I don't care. Can't stand him. Disgusting. Who's next, Dennis Rodman?
  15. Ahhh, so it was. Castro didn't come in until the 8th!. Does that now mean they BOTH can be easily played?
  16. Castro can be easily played. First the Angels double steal, and then about 10 days later, Houston. Physical errors I get. But today's run on a throw to first after a strikeout. Inexcusable. At least in my book, and for a pro that is supposed to be so good and smart. Buxton is already mixed. That double that Rosario couldn't get to, sure seemed like made for Buxton. Two runs there. Those three runs are the ball game today. Great observation on Gibson being sent out for the 7th.
  17. Mauer cutting Rosario's throw off 15 feet from a play at home is a real head scratcher. Santana was hopping around with the same "what is he doing?" vibe, and Castro was covering his amazement up well. Was there a play? Certainly. Could he have been out? We will never know. Color me perplexed. http://m.mlb.com/video/v1608639383/minhou-gurriel-crushes-an-rbi-double-off-the-wall
  18. The video is up on the Mauer cut-off play. Santana is hoping around. He couldn't believe he cut the ball off. Neither could Castro. It wouldn't have even happened if Rosario had made the play off the wall cleanly. But the throw probably would have gotten him. Good thing Rosario made the throw and not Granite.
  19. 45 pitches for Santana after 2 innings.
  20. Granite batting second in the order is being paralyzed by hope.
  21. So far, even Castro (who has been better in the past but is not helping the staff, it seems) has been disappointing. I can't say I have been happy with the very few things that the new FO has done. They sit back and watch real well, though. Colon is my least favorite move. I dislike it even more than Wilk and Belisle.
