  1. Maker's decline also correlates directly to getting married and having a family. No judgment, just fact.
  2. I think Dozier is due 6 million next year and 9 million the next. That could be a problem.
  3. Well, after the lead off batter got on base via an error, he imploded with two outs and 5 runs and a grand slam later his ERA is 0 for the game. Looks pretty good for this game on paper, too.Boshers is another of Ryan's off season bullpen fixes, 28 yrs old that nobody wanted, and a Rochester place holder. I have higher expectations for success I guess, and patience is frayed. Maybe things will change now that Ryan is gone, and guys like this won't be called up instead of prospects that are part of the future.
  4. So tired of Danny Santana... especially his adventures in the outfield.
  5. I agree, but someone has to be interim GM, since I didn't get the job.
  6. Interesting that an assistant GM in another organization is assigned to have experience and worthy of hiring, but an assistant GM from this organization has no experience. Hey, I sure hope that Rob Antony is truly an interim GM only, but he certainly has similar experience as other assistant GM's.
  7. YES!!! A great day in Twins History! Rejoice! Since it wasn't done year after year after year after year... after year after year... No time like the present! Change is happening! That is a good thing, whatever the last straw was .
  8. Insecure umpire power tripping. What a baby. Pathetic.
  9. Someone needs to challenge the system in court, and create a class action suit.MLB would be shamed publicly into paying the minor league players a fair salary. Comparing inadequate pay to other inadequate pay lacks compassion and empathy.
  10. Oh., OK. But I was just kidding. I am in the camp that thinks the new award names are tacky and unnecessary and ostentatious. I take it back.
  11. Yup. Another case of roster mismanagement. I didn't get the need to DFA him.
  12. Hey! Maybe the Twins Daily Minor League Hitter/Pitcher of the Day should be changed to honor a minor league hitter and pitcher that never quite made it in the bigs, like: The Chris Parmelee Twins Daily Minor League Hitter of the Day and The Anthony Slama Twins Daily Minor League Pitcher of the Day How about it? Trendy, eh?
  13. Yup. Plenty of hope. Timely power and key hits, however few they may be so far. I like the kid. Hope hope.
  14. Maybe it is that other guy.... Sazuki.
  15. But hey, fans do it right here on these boards all the time.... even to make the case that a player is suddenly an all-star!
  16. Dozier can play short..... and Plouffe!
  17. Well, I think Buxton was ready, and he murdered AAA when sent back..... and he thinks he is ready - just ask him. He just is mentally failing, and making bad decisions. What is Kepler hitting so far? .238? Kinda what Dozier hits. And Plouffe. And they are called pretty good by some fans - and some will write pages about how one is even an all-star. Sure, add all the stats and streaks you like, and it is still what it is. I have hope that he will become something to rave about, but he has to be on the team, and not yo-yo'd up and down to AAA. Twins' fans seem conditioned to think that .238 is pretty good. That is about what Sano is hitting, too, this year. But for an outfielder, it isn't even close to replacement level yet. I don't think the problem is bringing them up. I think the yo-yo syndrome is hurting them. It doesn't matter if one can eat up AAA in the end. It only matters what they can sustain in the Show.
  18. Patience is overrated. The Phillies gutted the team and are 6 games under.500 at the break. Something is systematically wrong with this organization and has been now for years. I keep seeing people bring up the fictitious "rebuild" that hasn't happened and never did. Terry Ryan continues to live in a fantasy world of mediocre veterans signed to block youth while options expire and prospects lose value while redundancies aren't identified and decisions made. We see electric stuff wasted because of a couple walks, and hitters not prepared mentally to make the final step. Over and over. Harper's and Trout's and Story's and Bryant's and Correa's and...... other similar talent shines as Twin's prospects don't seem ready, over and over. So screw patience. Terry Ryan is the common element over time of the failings. Time to be mad as hell and not take it anymore.
  19. My opinion is not an argument, and you can't eliminate my opinion. If you are looking for arguments, that is down the hall, second door on the right.
  20. It is not the "Rod Carew Award", it is officially the "Rod Carew American League Batting Title", and the winner of it would be the "Rod Carew American League Batting Champion". I think tacking on additional names is tacky. Same as sponsors buying the name of venues and stadiums. Tacky with money. Unnecessary, superficial, and tacky.
  21. Jepsen's performance last year was a clear outlier and classic fools gold. Just as Hughes' performance was in 2014. Some, not nobody, are not so easily duped.
  22. Burdi & Meyer. Pitching in the Twins system can be like traveling in the Bermuda Triangle. One day they are pitching, and then they disappear and you never see them again.
