Wow.............I cannot remember the last time a Twins starter got nailed in the first and was so dominant during the rest of the outing. Kudo's to Lopez and if Rocco doesn't mess with him and also Gray, we may have something here. That was pitching...........fun to see from our local team. GO TWINS! Twins Geezer...........out!

Four games in and this club looks composed and cohesive. About the only blip I see (and a small one), is Miranda looks a bit shaky at third defensively. Gallo looks very good at first. Catching seems vastly improved behind the plate, though we have not seen any attempts to throw out a runner trying to steal second yet. It was also great to see Kepler get two hits but not good to see the knee tweak. Who can really complain at 4-0? Starting and Relief Pitching seems superb but it is so early. We have a team this year. Let's hope Professor Baldelli does not mess it up. Twins Geezer out.................Go Twins.

Twins Lose Danny Coulombe to the Orioles
Jeff D. replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Sometimes you just scratch your head. Orioles Win and Twins Lose on this one. Yet Pagan stays. Go Twins! Twins Geezer.....out! -
Past History! I don't agree he would have worked out. I'm sure being so far away from support did not help. At least we took a shot. Something Professor Baldelli could learn from. Go Twins! Twins Geezer..........out!

Twins 2023 Position Analysis: Right Field
Jeff D. replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Good article and analysis. Kepler can turn all this around with a .260 or up year. Fans like Max. With good reason. He is solid in the field, is fast, has power and is low key. A dependable player for a fan base that still admires dependability. The guy is simply a very good right fielder and perfect for the Twins. The exception being that he cannot go opposite field and seems to start cooking with his bat when he elevates the ball some. Let's face it, the Twins (full lineup) has lacked a good hitting coach for a couple of seasons now and it shows. The Twins don't know what a bunt is, rarely sacrifice, and suffer from a continual musical chairs approach with the hitting order, (Thanks Professor Baldelli!). Max will benefit from the shift rule and let's hope it revives him and our team, because he is very fun to watch in the field. I can still remember when it was fun to watch him hit better. Was the Bomba Squad Overrated?
Jeff D. replied to Adam Neisen's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
It was fun! It did not lead to the ultimate prize in baseball! Leave it at the fun part. It has been downhill fun since. Jettison Professor Baldelli, and let the young guys catch, hit and run. Oh, and let a pitcher get into the sixth unless getting shellacked. GO TWINS! Twins Geezer....out!- 56 replies

IMO we should have kept Urshela and moved Max. Good read. Good questions asked and good view point in the answer by the author. We certainly did not need to replace Sano's strikeouts. We have a surplus of unproven talent at this point on this team. We have a dull dugout leader on this team. I am hopeful the Twins can win 80 games this year. Spring Training will give us a great preview. Go Twins! Twins Geezer out!

Baseball’s Best Outfield Is In Minnesota
Jeff D. replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
So what exactly are you wondering about? I guess I could have been more specific. I am, and have been concerned about our fragile Center Fielder, Byron Buxton (he would call me a bad fan), and how we consistently view this guy as our team's key. He is fragile and this is a fact. I guess that is it. No ill thoughts about Taylor or Celsetino or Gordon in CF. In my view only, he should DH where it may be safe for him. Let Celestino/Taylor/Gordon play. GO TWINS! Baseball’s Best Outfield Is In Minnesota
Jeff D. replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
While I anxiously await the 2023 season to begin, I remain extremely skeptical about our Twins and the leadership. What I do wonder about is our centerfield position, our strikeouts, our hitting coach, our starting pitching durability, how our RF'er will hopefully improve with the shift gone, Baldelli, how Arraez not adding 200 hits will affect the on base %, our catching spot and a few more tidbits. That being said, GO TWINS! Twins Geezer, OUT!- 40 replies

The Twins Forgotten Center Fielder
Jeff D. replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Very good article! I like Celestino. I don't like the mistakes he made or lack of hitting. One year in St. Paul should answer a lot of this and hopefully develop the talent he has. One thing I do like is that he does not get injured. He is good defensively. Personally, I've been tired of seeing BB get injured and then reading about the talent he possesses. It is an effort in futility. He is 29 now. He still has value according to all the pundits. This year should be the line in the sand year for the guy. If the guy goes to the IL again for an extended period, the chants of fragility will echo through the fandom realm again. Taylor is a solid defensive player. Not a threat at the plate. More durable than BB. He is also on a one- year contract. Something will become clearer for our CF position this year. Twins Geezer.....out! GO TWINS! -
Rocco Baldelli; The Perfect Modern Manager
Jeff D. commented on Nick Hanzlik's blog entry in Twins on Wheat; Add Mayo
My least favorite part of a team I love! Go Twins! Twins Geezer... out. -
Interesting to read this. I am surprised Kepler is still with us after this winter, but it does not surprise me much with our Twins anymore. I believe that it is absolutely wiser to believe in this article than to believe Mr. Buxton will play 100 games or Mr. Baldelli will change his game management. I am also hopeful that Kepler will have a more productive year with the shift changing rules. He is a pleasure to watch in the field, He can be very patient at the plate. He is zero drama on this team. I would love to see a rebound for the guy and this team. I also chuckled reading Popkins name. Talk about Mr. Irrelevant (Sorry, I tossed in a football reference), I had forgotten he was our hitting coach. I like the optimism and research from Mr. Rabelo in the article. I, the old geezer will remain skeptical but loyal. GO TWINS~ Twins Geezer..........out!

Twins Trade Luis Arraez for Marlins' Pitcher Pablo López
Jeff D. replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Another pitcher for Professor Baldelli to count pitches. Some of the comments on this trade speak about the balky knees of Arraez. That is true, but, funny. Mr. Buxton gets injured sneezing. The majority of the team is in and out with incredible ailments. Yet, Correa played over 130 games last year with an ankle that everyone is worried about and Arraez hit the daylights out of the ball with bad knees. I think we have some mixed up views on our mighty Twins. We lost a great hitter and picked up an average pitcher. If, by some miracle our projected starters all magically get healthy and stay that way this year we are going to be trading pitching next year (or the rest of this year) because we have too many arms. We all know how Professor B. loves to pull them............. Go Twins! Twins Geezer glumly signing out! -
Three Areas the Twins Need Change During 2023
Jeff D. replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I'll make this simple and it is only my opinion. Jettison Professor Baldelli, improve catching, and stop resurrection of players past mentality. I also think Mr. Watson needs to go or at least go back to first base coaching. He seemed better there. Third base is not his spot. Twins Geezer.....out! Go Twins!- 25 replies

I am more concerned about Buxton's ability to stay healthy than Correa's ankle. This guy is a stud and finally the Twins can anchor an infield after a long time waiting for it. We now have an incredible depth of multi-positional players that most of us feel good about. This should allow for some possible trades yet to come. With the addition of a new physical trainer to the team, I'm optimistic that injuries will be reduced and our patchwork ball team will be able to settle in with more consistency. If Maeda can come back strong, our starting pitching should be better. The bullpen should be fine. For me, the larger questions are Buxton and our manager's approach. Go Twins! Twins Geezer...........out.

3 Twins Players Who Need to Step Up in 2023
Jeff D. replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Absolutely missed Kepler, Buxton and yes, the catching is a disaster. If Polanco declines in performance, then I believe it will be time to move on, but my feelings are that he is going to have an improved season in 2023. If I could add........a non-player that must improve is our dugout leader Mr. Baldelli. Go Twins!- 29 replies
