  1. Gotta say, I can really see a scenario where KC and MN finish ahead of Cleveland in the central. Everyone has to stay healthy. I don't at all trust KC's depth. Probably the least depth of the 3 MN/Cle/KC. That said, Witt is REALLY good. He might be the best player in the American League. Baseball is fun when there is competition like this.
  2. Fedde isn’t a rental, and he is having a legit good season. But I have a hard time seeing the ask being one of our top 3. Not with what they actually got back for him. Something doesn’t add up for me. It also makes me frustrated even more that they didn’t try for a playoff level starter this past offseason. The trade deadline is never going to be a given as you don’t know A) Who will be willing to sell at that time, B) Who will still be healthy and pitching well at the end of July, and C) which of your prospects will be playing well. It’s all a guess. Hopefully the young guys can perform, be it Festa or Matthews or someone else. Their stuff all looks legit, but it all has to translate. I also hope they are open to adding a playoff level starter this offseason even more now. Yes they have 3 guys who are going well (and I’d absolutely argue are throwing better than anyone who was traded at the deadline, absent Flaherty who the Yankees didn’t want to add due to his physical.) Still, even with all these what if’s, not doing anything feels like a gut punch and makes it really easy to be mad at ownership.
  3. I'd add Hunter Harvey to the guys that Kansas City added prior to the deadline, just for listing purposes. Overall, the best name going to any team here is probably Arozarena to Seattle right? I don't know that I see a lot of difference makers listed otherwise.
  4. Any word on when any of the recent draft picks will debut? Debarge and Amick specifically signed a bit ago. Figured maybe they could debut here in the next week or so. Thanks!
  5. I always have loved adding “in bed” to things like this. :)
  6. Always enjoy your writing Nate. Thanks!
  7. https://www.si.com/mlb/twins/minnesota-twins-news/twins-to-promote-top-prospect-walker-jenkins-to-high-a-cedar-rapids-01j401t66d0h#:~:text=The %23MNTwins are promoting OF,in 31 of those games.
  8. I agree, and with how they have developed pitching, I'd say they are pretty good at getting to that point overall.
  9. Is it though? I mean, are we certain any of the prospects you listed can be a serviceable regular in a starting rotation? I certainly hope they can, and they have been good at getting guys ready to be mlb pitchers. But nothing is ever guaranteed.
  10. You can NEVER have enough pitching. AND There is no such thing as a pitching prospect :)
  11. All of that is true. I more mean, right now, Buxton is healthy and playing well. Correa should be back and was playing really well. Our pitchers are generally healthy, and the lineup has a lot of guys who are going pretty good at the moment. None of what I just listed is guaranteed to happen again specifically or individually. That's why I say it's important to add now because we can't guarantee the level of health for any given future year with what is our core in 2024.
  12. If you aren’t going to push some chips once in a while, are you even playing the game? Better way to word it, if you aren’t going to go for it this year, when will you ever go for it?
  13. I’m fully on board with this. 100%
  14. Is Paxton still effective though? That’s a lot of walks this year with diminished velocity
  15. I’ll say it again like I did this past offseason; Blake Snell is already a twin. His brother lives near Seattle. Bring him in for the playoff push, show you are truly going forward, and that will help with the tv push and playoff seats more than just about anyone else no?
  16. This is how this front office has always worked. They never give off smoke signals for anything. It’s annoying for those of us who hit f5 often during the day, but it’s fine
  17. In this trade, for a Minnesota angle, one of the prospects is Mac Horvath. He was a 2nd round pick in 2023 out of the university of Carolina, but he grew up and played baseball through high school in Austin, MN. Hopefully he gets a shot at some point
  18. Not all top 10’s are created equal. That’s mostly what I meant. I don’t love Scott’s walk rate at all, but I get what you are saying. In that sense I would take Puk over Scott too. We will see
  19. Yeah, no. Payroll space is only so valuable. It’s not more valuable than Pablo. That line of thinking is just beyond ridiculous today
  20. Agree to disagree that he is similar to Keaschall. That strikeout rate of his can’t continue if he wants to have success in the majors
  21. Imagine thinking Pablo should ever be on the table. Yuck
  22. Keaschall is a top 100 prospect though. Still, it is a lot to give up, but Puk is a good reliever
