  1. Yeah, I can see that. I'm not certain I actually even really like any of the ideas offered. Maybe that's because I'm biased towards keeping Lewis. Good to turn over every stone, I get that. Just saying.
  2. This response is not to your writing. Your writing is good. I loathe the idea of trading him right now so much. He is coming off an awful 2nd half, and I can’t see a way they get value for him as if he had a great year. Plus if the worry is payroll, why trade someone like him who is making minimal. I am so hopeful that this isn’t a move that happens this offseason
  3. This is gross and disappointing. I just can’t see this happening
  4. I do think, with how they keep saying they need to be creative this offseason, that we will see a trade at some point that is surprising, and hopefully it's in a good way. I do imagine they will take a "swing" for a player, as well as some other minor trades too.
  5. I like the thought process of getting a different catcher in a trade of Jeffers (plus) and pairing that new/younger catcher with Vazquez for a year. I would hope that whatever catcher they do bring in can catch at minimum to the level the Jeffers currently was defensively. Good thought process.
  6. According to Bobby Nightengale, the Twins today outrighted Scott Blewitt, Randy Dobnak, Daniel Duarte, Yunior Severino and Josh Winder. They also picked up Jorge Alcala's option. The 40 man sits at 35.
  7. I have a hard time numbering the guys in the order that you did. I say that because I can’t see them trading away anyone who is coming off an injured or down year. They aren’t known at all to trade guys who aren’t at the height of their supposed value. Basically, I can’t see any of these top 5 being traded. All were coming off either injured or down years, have no trade clauses, or otherwise didn’t perform as well as 2023.
  8. ONLY came here to add that the Dodgers did make a prospect for prospect trade this past offseason, when they sent prospect Michael Busch and reliever Yency Almonte to the Cubs for prospects Jackson Ferris (he looked REALLY good this year) and Zyhir Hope. I wouldn't trade Jax for this kind of deal either. Agreed.
  9. Soler was already traded today to the Angels for Giffin Canning

  12. Wow. Twins just announced Kirilloff is retiring from baseball. Can't blame him, but man, hope he is ok ongoing.
  13. I'd go a step further; I'd even listen on Jeffers if it helped upgrade the team elsewhere. Love his bat, but pairing Vazquez's with another strong defensive catcher would be a way to upgrade the pitching staff in my opinion.
  14. It's obviously apples to oranges. And I wouldn't imagine Jax or any pitcher to get to the heights that Santana did (still think he is hall of fame worthy.) Just saying that sometimes it takes time for a pitcher to "click" in their role. That's all.
  15. Lopez had a down year compared to 2023 but still had 3.6 war. Arraez had 1.1 war and a .739 ops, along with a 109 rc+. All perfectly ok numbers. After their poor start to the year, they played at a 100 win pace from the end of April through the early part of August. Then the team forgot how to hit in any sensible way. That is still mind boggling to me. Lopez makes the team better.
  16. The stadium is a big one, but having a strong farm system is certainly a bonus.
  17. I'm curious what Lee will look like in the spring. Last spring he had a herniated disc and back spasms, and then when he did come back in August eventually he had to have cortisone shots in his shoulder for some issues there too. A healthy Brooks Lee is a better defender than the one you describe (at least in my opinion.)
  18. Well, and hopefully whatever also happened to Miranda the last 2 months of the year can be fixed too. Curious if that is an injury or something else. He was also really good (like a lot of the roster) until he wasn't. We'll see.
  19. I get that, where Royce (who wants a large contract someday) would be more valuable to himself playing anywhere but 1B. That's why it seems crazy. Who do you think is a better fit at 3b next year, assuming good health? Lewis or Lee? Heck, throw Miranda in there too? I also am fairly bullish on Keaschall, at least by May or June 2025, to be a mlb regular. Maybe that's at 2b? 1B? Lots to figure out this offseason. Just throwing out that Lewis I think could handle 1B well, but if he is healthy and can play better at 3B or 2B, that's a good problem to have right?
  20. This MIGHT be a crazy thought. Just throwing it out there. IF Royce is having issues throwing from 3rd, and he had leg issues which caused his bat to drop off in the 2nd half (that is probably what happened, right?) why not look at trying him at 1st ongoing? He certainly has the power profile for a position like that too. Have to get him right either way, just thought I'd throw it out there. Maybe it is crazy, but in my head I could see this. Get Lee healthy too. His back stuff last spring along with his shoulder stuff in August didn't help his season. Hopefully he is fully healthy come spring.
  21. I’d say that brought a playoff series win no? That had nothing to do with the collapse at the end of this season.
  22. I'd be very surprised if any of Lopez/Ryan/Ober are traded. It came out around the deadline that they had listened on Duran. He is the guy that I would think could be on the block if they do get a good offer.
  23. They haven’t really historically traded players away who are coming off down or injured years. If you look at a player as an asset, it wouldn’t make sense to trade them when their value is lower than they think it should be. I can’t see a scenario where Joe Ryan is traded away, unless they get value as if he were healthy the entire season. I hope they don’t trade Ober either. But this clearly was his career year, at least so far. So for that reason only, I’d be less surprised if he were traded for a haul. I don’t think either are traded though. They don’t have to cut payroll.
