  1. I think this is the difference between this year team and last year team. And that shows that the reduction in payroll is not "free". It is paid in roster depth. Last year there were injuries too, but my recollection was that the depth was better, both on the hitting and the pitching side. In the rotation right now we have 3 rookies that are performing admirably, but at least 2 of them would be in AAA completing their development, if not for injuries.
  2. Sometimes Randball columns are funny. Sirs, this something different. Is literature...
  3. According to the article, he did throw a change-up. It was just one in the middle of the plate. Not much Jeffers could do about that
  4. I bet this is kind of an audition of who stays as a starter and who stays as a long reliever (of Williams and Varland. It looks like the winner is Williams
  5. We are going to need a starter for the double header. Are thy going to keep Dobnak for that day?
  6. The transaction hasn't been posted yet in the Twins website.
  7. There was a rumor that the Yankees were offering Cortes. I don't know what they were asking.
  8. I agree with many that the ones mentioned in this article are not really good trade bait. If we think that Wallner and/or Larnach are good enough to be our corner outfielders, then Kepler could be a rental for someone else. He is on an expiring contract and it does not look that they are going to re-sign him
  9. I don't know, but putting this year Thielbar to hold a 1 run lead, isn't a fireable offense?
  10. Larnach may just have saved Rocco's job
  11. Pretty normal. Debut. Once the adrenaline starts to wear out, there goes the concentration and the other team starts to get hits. Ok, 4 innings for a 1st day (and he was almost perfect through 3) is not that bad
  12. My guess is that they are going to send someone down (Sands, Staumont) and bring a fresh arm for today's game
  13. I read somewhere (I can't remember where, that is why I don't link them) that there were service time issues involved in all this. That is, if he goes to the IL then he is still accruing service time, while if he goes to AAA, that stops.
  14. No,no. It was J.J Cale. Clapton covered it,
  15. I was thinking about the same. Haven't heard of any injury.
  16. Apparently their starter is not Singer, is Lynch (they just changed it). That is why the line-up is the standard against lefties
  17. Many mentioned this before. The reliable part of the bullpen is Duran, Jax?, and.?????😰
  18. First, wait today what the diagnostic is. 2nd, if there is a 10 day IL (which is the most probable) Martin. For long term, again, depend on the diagnostic, and how Martin fares. If it is a long term injury and Martin fares well, then this is Martin job. If he doesn't fare well, probably a trade or a FA for next year. I would hate to rush Rodriguez to cover a hole.
  19. Not much left. Who would have thought? Close to the time to explore the unsigned, DFA limbo.
  20. Question for those who know about pitching. Wouldn't it be a priority to work on the control of the pitches that he has, rather than change pitch mixes or introducing new pitches?
  21. You know who could be one fun to have? Slowey. I am sure he is gonna offer a "different perspective".😊
  22. I keep reading that the left side of the infield is locked, so the path for Lee is 2nd base. But that is if Lewis and Correa have a healthy year, which it pains me to say, it is not a given. I understand that Lewis and Correa are better at their positions that Julian is at second, so it is better if Lee eventually replaces Julien than he replacing Correa or Lewis. But I think it is a very good idea for the Twins giving him playing time at AAA on the left side of the infield. Nobody knows where the need is going to be and playing on the left side is more difficult than playing on the right of the infield.
