  1. Nope: They fixed 8&9. But if Rocco continues to yank starters at 5 innings then 6&7 will continue to kill us like it did last night! Pagan should have followed Smith out the door and Duffy to St Paul. Cotton is laughing at last night's debacle! McGill is another stiff. Starters have to give another inning with this Pen!
  2. Truth is Twins got out manuvered by Seattle for the real prize (Castillo) who they got for very little. But they at least salvaged something with the pen addition. Starter is another middle of the road guy. Until Twins change their thinking that an ACE is not needed they won't be able to compete with the Big Boys! No team has gone deep in the Playoffs without an Ace in 50 years. Let's start there! You have to Pay to Play! Twins won't so they are what they are .500++ And a One and done team if they make the playoffs. Just reality
  3. They missed on Castillo who Seattle got for less than what Twins gave for Mahle. But Ok pickup. But still no team goes deep without an Ace. So until Twins get one they are a one and done at best!!
  4. Think if Wolves new ownership had purchased the Twins. We would have had an Ace and a Closer by now! Because the word "WINNING" is in their vocabulary! Instead we do nothing and have a Manager who says he is "Content" with what he has! Rocco is the perfect "Puppet" Manager for the Pohlads!! Seattle got Castillo for almost nothing. Yankees gave up prospects and got quality pitchers. As long as Twins turn a Profit in the Taxpayer provided stadium winning will never be a priority!
  5. Wow! A team absolutely STARVED for pitching uses it's #1 for a SS! Then they seem absolutely OBSESSED with bringing in pitchers who have had Tommy John Surgery! Now even in the draft they do it? Unbelivable! Almost all of the previous Tommy John guys have not worked out. Why chance your #2 pick on damaged goods! They always look recovered after surgery and the Twins always bite. But a year later as the pitches build they get stung and velocity is gone and so are the pitchers.
  6. Definitely need an upgrade. Jeffers only hits a HR when it doesn't matter. Runners take advantage of him running. Time for a change.
  7. Pagan must have pictures on Rocco! He can't find the plate for beans. I don't care what stuff you have if you can't throw it for strikes you are useless Send him to St Paul. If he finds his control bring back. If not at least he hasn't lost you more games Bring up some kids if you are not going to make a trade or two. They can't do any worse than this Pen. Plus add an inning to the starters!!
  8. He has had a long "Trial Period". A few OK weeks does not erase that history. He, like most Twin Outfielders still has "No Clue" on how to play a fence. So a comparison to Lewis is Apples to Oranges!
  9. Should have made changes for the Cleveland series. New young arms that nobody has seen are usually good for 1-2 starts anyway. But with no Ace and no Closer July and August and September will be lucky to be at .500!
  10. Sad story. To hear the guys in the booth say that Sano just refuses to hit the other way like Cabrera does is disappointing. Trying to pull every pitch and failing should tell the young man he has to change. But several have mentioned he won't change. Send to st Paul to sell a few tickets Then part ways.
  11. Could not disagree more! No team has gone deep in playoffs for 20 years.without an Ace and strong #2. Taking Pitchers from from the scrap heap and pitching them 4-5 innings when you have a crappy pen is a recipe for failure!! Wes Johnson left for a reason. He sees the writing on the wall. The Twins pitching philosophy doesn't work!!
  12. Correa wants to win. And unless he sees a commitment from the front office to bring in major league Pitchers he will not stay!! He must already be tiring of watching batting practice from SS in the late innings!!
  13. Nothing to do with Ryan! Pitching same way he did in Gold Medal game. And Duffy! Not sure he wants credit for him. And he should get credit for costing Twins a few games by pushing Rocco into the 4-5 innings concept for starters!
  14. Whoa sports fans!! Stop the rush!! Miranda can hit fastballs. Still lost on curveballs! And in the field? Definitely not ready. Twins pulled Miranda in close at first last week to cut down a runner at home. Ball was hit right to him. He took two steps toward first then threw home. Runner safe!! That is baseball 101. Catch and throw. And not one young Twin can play the fence. Leave these guys down to get their training time in!!
  15. Think he saw writing on the wall! Hasn't helped any of the young pitchers. If Twins continue their slide he was gone at end of year.
  16. Miranda has not shown he can hit a major league curveball. Much like Sano. Why teams ever throw him a fastball is a mystery. And is liability in the field. Not just his glove but his thought process. Twins moved him in at 1st a couple games ago to cut down a run at the plate. Everyone knows what that means. Catch the ball and throw home. Well they hit him the ball but he took a step back toward first and then threw home. Runner safe. Why did he think they had him playing in? That is baseball 101! And Gio is just fine at 3rd. Miranda may need another year in St. Paul.
  17. Better switch position. Twins have their shortstop for the next 7-10 years if they are smart and sign Correa long term!!
  18. Think you may be over rating Miranda. He has no position that a team would trade a top player for and be able to say "we got our 3rd baseman or we got our 1st baseman. Miranda is shaky at both positions. Would have to be DH and continue to work on a full-time position. Twins moved Miranda in to cut down a run at the plate this week. Ball was hit to him. He hesitated, took a couple steps to first then threw home. Runner safe. That was baseball 101. Catch and throw home. Why did he think Rocco moved him in close?
  19. Bring him up. Miranda struggles at first. Twins brought him in close yesterday to cut a run at the plate. Ball was hit to him and he hesitated, took a step toward 1st then threw home. Safe! Why did he think Twins had him in close? Larnach is back to waving at curve balls. Some AB's are available there
  20. Good article. Buxton should be sat until healthy and then play fulltime. Having your best player only playing part time is ridiculous!! And why hold to a plan but then play both ends of a double header?
  21. Don't be so set on Larnach being a lock. He still has no clue on how to play a wall and can't hit a curve all. Why teams throw him a fastball is a mystery!!
  22. Put Lewis at Firstbase and be done with it. Have you seen the play at 1st? It cost us the game last night with the lousy throw 2 feet behind the Pitcher. Otherwise LF. Stop trying to chase Correa away. We know the Twins would love to dump Correa salary and say "Oh, we have Lewis". But KEEP BOTH!!
  23. Donaldson was ONE of the few players who showed ANY fire for the Twins last year. Others went through the motions and collected paychecks!! He got mad at his own failures and the teams. Twins need more emotion like his!!
  24. Some good comments but you missed on Larnach. He has No Clue on how to play an outfield wall and scouting reports have made him suspect at the plate. Put Lewis out there NOW.
  25. First, LF or DH. LF has been filled by less than average fielders so you don't lose anything with him out there and eventually might be a gain. Larnach has no clue on how to play the fence as an example.
