  1. Welp, it's 11:00 pm here, which is apparently midnight from wherever Chief must be posting, so that makes it too late for me. Try not to squander this lead, y'all.
  2. Well, sure. Who hasn't? What about a Lay's potato chip, though? No, not several. Just one.
  3. Note to self: never get into an Internet discussion with a Time Lord.
  4. I remember google searching it when Brian posted.
  5. Ha ha, you gave up a hit to Adrianza. Hit the showers, Meat.
  6. My reel-to-reel tape drive doesn't have the bandwidth of your 8-track.

  8. I thought the cholesterol greased up the veins to help the booze slide on through.

  10. Four partly different words: Mike Pelfrey's Best Friends.
  11. That bottom third of the lineup is a serious risk for an aggregate o-fer.
  12. I am unwilling to risk horsemeat anywhere but Europe.
  13. Implicit in my parenthetical comment was a question I intended to ask: do waivers transfer over for the rest of the season, after a trade? I.e. does the waiver pertain to the player, or to the team, once granted?
  14. Jay hasn't pitched in a game yet. Were you thinking of Burdi, also in Chattanooga?
  15. The good news is that experience has shown it's not difficult to obtain waivers if you want to remove him. (I know, he can refuse a second demotion to the minors and elect free agency instead.)
  16. DFA for someone like DanSan probably is for demotion to Rochester, not formal release. To address your question though, probably being taken in trade by another team is preferable. He continues to collect that sweet major league dough, plus service time toward a pension.
  17. You could do a feature on Mrs Ash, who was raised in Chicago. Raised the right way, I mean to say: her dad would call the kids in sick for school on Opening Day, and take her and her brother to Wrigley. One year her brother actually was sick enough to be in the hospital, and she and her dad still went to Opening Day. She also was president of the Cal Koonce Fan Club, unless I am mixing up which player is which. I knew there was a good reason I married into that fine upstanding family.
