  1. Be careful what you wish for. Goodrum is on about the same level as Santana as regards reliability of the glove at present, which is to say, bad. Maybe he can clean things up, but he needs to do that at Rochester.
  2. Came here to see this. Leaving, satisfied.
  3. What's your recommendation for a good defensive metric to base year-end awards on?
  4. I'm getting ads for Minnesota Twins paraphernalia. How do they know?
  5. Get him up to the majors pronto, and let Castro start framing him up to the 85-90% range.
  6. Giving reps at SS to the guy with the higher upside but who still has questions about whether he can stick at short, plus adding positional flexibility for the other guy? Just a guess. Vielma was playing 2B in Florida the week I was there, too. As with Polanco, fulltime duty at 2B at one minor league stop doesn't close the door on shortstop. If it were me, I'd give him (some more) time at 3B too. / edit - I took a look, and the guy who played 3B last night, Ryan Walker, has been mostly a second baseman in his career. Maybe the new regime is emphasizing positional flexibility a little more?
  7. Would Gene Larkin have made that play?
  8. Fortunately, it also floated. http://ndigo.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Ali-boxing-ndigo-chicago.jpg
  9. Ho boy, bad baserunning instincts by Grossman there. He who hesitates... makes it to third anyway on a bad throw.
  10. I like it when the foam has good body like that.
  11. Uh oh, do they have Me on back-order as well?
  12. Why is it called a Foul line, if it's a Fair ball when it hits it?
  13. Depends on how you define the term. In normal parlance, no, not even in the first inning.
  14. Why didn't Buxton catch that one? Down to Rochester with him!
  15. HOW in the WORLD did Buxton CATCH that? It tailed away at the last second. He lunged and I thought no way!
  16. Did you by chance have any strong reactions to it?
  17. I, for one, would not, nor would I call him "Fred" or "Gertrude", since his birth certificate is listed as "Willie Howard Mays".
  18. The eye test has me leaning toward #2, although admittedly that is also SSS.
  19. The hard part is winning the other 161.
  20. Jason Castro: great signing, or greatest signing?
  21. Royals pitch carefully with the bases loaded, because, you know, one bad pitch could clear the bases. Instead, 3 runs in anyway. And then a base hit, or two, after all that care.
  22. The score after 5 is 1-1, and nobody's winning. This has been your BBU. / Birthday Boy Update, natch. If somebody already did one of these, well, I'm not wading through 22 pages just to be original
