  1. The reason I`m high on Archer is his trading value is much lower than what he could be. That said I would not Larnauch for him because Larnauch trading value is so much higher. A player`s value like Rooker for example would be reasonable
  2. I`d like to take the time to thank all of Twins Daily for being! Off season would be totally boring w/o this forum to be a sound board & articles which inform us & provoke us in discussion. We have been always a great farm system. In recent past, except for a few exceptions of exceptional natural talented players, we had many prospects that didn`t pan out. The ones that stick out are Hicks, he had all the tools, even some that we have now like Buxton, Sano & Berrios that took longer than normal to develop. Of course there injuries, laziness & discouragement of the players but I wonder if some of it was past inadequate coaching ? I have more hope in the present coaching staff & hope we bring more prospects into full fruition more quickly
  3. What I`ve heard Pittsburgh changed his pitching & it didn`t work out
  4. I liked the way the Twins played revolving chairs w/ AAA pitching last year. I hope they use the false starters more this season, to keep the starters & BP fresh for the whole season. In this scenario they can use their AAA more effectively & give them more ML experience
  5. I was criticized in a previous article for not wanting to trade Jeffers for the same reasons you mentioned just because we have Garver. We need him desperately for back up, hopefully he`ll be called up by next Sept, & like was mention we could use Garver more at 1st to take advantage of his bat especially when Rortvedt is ready. PS I haven`t given up on Astudillo
  6. Very interesting article, to me Cruz `s influence & mentoring is invaluable
  7. It`s a reasonable opinion, Which I believe is pretty on. I`m a family man & if I had the opportunity of a ton of money w/ a chance to make close to 100 million. The extra millions would not make me choose a team far from family. I`d love to give tickets away to family to come watch me play on a daily basis. & I`m saying Donaldson is like me for what I`ve see n
  8. I don`t have the link ready but I saw clip where he bought his mom a new expensive car
  9. Donaldson is a family man (which isn`t bad) he wants to be near mom & family. He doesn`t need the $ , he wants it help out his family
  10. I`ve been a Twins fan since they existed & I`ll always be no matter what. I`m thankful to the Pohlads for bringing the WS trophy to MN. in `89 & `91. I don`t blame them for not signing their FAs even Ryu, they might have had a good reason but now if they don`t go out find a descent trade or 2 & be very creative, I`d be very disappointed & even betrayed. there`s a lot good possibilities out there if they only open themselves to that & maybe very creative. Pitching is still the priority but a pretty good SS would be nice. We have many players that can be traded. There`s many I`d hate to see go but we can`t save them all on the 40 man. We can trade player that are redundant (meaning keeping several player when we need only one). We only need to decide if we want to go all in & win it all or only advance further in the PS for the time being, we can not be status quo or we`ll be left out in the cold.
  11. I think center field takes a lot out of Kepler, keep him in RF. We need him there
  12. Thanks for your article. I too like the boyd but share the same feeling that being in the same division we wouldn`t get a good deal. I like Snyderguard but I wouldn`t destroy our outfield for him ( Buxton is too valuable). I like the Sale trade but I wouldn`t trade away our catching future, I`d delete Jeffers & except less cash What I like the best is the Archer trade. Face value I think Pittsburgh is getting a better deal but actually Archer is worth it. I`m also interested in Ray, I think Arizona have an abundance of starting pitching. Other is J. Gray if Colorado is open for a trade. If not now maybe later for either.
  13. They should have had Arraez lead off from the get go. That would have been better for the team & him personally
  14. I`m curious what kind of players would Pittsburgh be interested in a trade. We have a lot of outfield, infield & even pitching possibblities
  15. I too would have preferred Gibson & Perez than what materialized. I think all our pitchers petered out at the end (except Pineida) but more so Gibson & Perez. I believe Gibson will manage his colitis. It seems that Perez can`t pitch 7 innings through out the season, him w/ Pineada as an opener worked well. Perez could be used more w/ an opener if there isn`t anything else the matter w/ him. As was stated the release of Gibson & Perez would have been OK if we had made an improvement. FA didn`t happened so we were hoping for some trade
  16. The start of last year I was very optimistic. We got some very good positional players. We had an awesome pitching & catching staff, the BP was good even Blake surprised me in the beginning. This year I was hoping that we`d be better but as I see it as of now we aren`t. Positional players we lost Skoop & Cron but gain Arraez. What gain in OBP we lost in defense & power. Pitching we lost Gibson & Perez, yeah they petered out at the end but they helped give us a commanding lead in the beginning . Catching we lost Castro so it`s hard to replace him as back up. BP is better. But I was expecting to dominate the Central Division & win at least 1 game in the Post season not to just compete for the division
  17. Very disappointed, the FO needed to go out there & get an impact arm or a breakout arm that we can keep for several years via trade. That`s our 1st priority to be a serious contender. Why are we hoarding trading prospects, when we can`t protect them all on the 40 man
  18. Sorry, I meant Nick Gordon- Dee is his brother. We have many infield & outfield prospect that are ready or near major league ready. I`d rather use them than proven players. We don`t have many catching prospects so I`d like to keep Astudillo. He has great up side & fun to watch. Hopefully he can be coached more plate discipline
