  1. Just curious, was Pham's double catchable if Castro had run a better route? Shortcomings and all, I am starting to love this year's version of the ball club.
  2. Let's hope this is not just about re-balancing the record with a string of wins against cupcake teams. If these games against AAAA clubs help Twins pitchers and hitters find their grooves, that could help them perform more successfully against competitive teams.
  3. Turner's certainly off to a hot start in his sunset years. Was ownership ever going to sign off on paying 13 million for him, no matter who you swap him in for?
  4. The guy has made two appearances since returning from the IL. We know his age. Is it really the time to write this? Let's stop speculating and let players put up numbers that allow us to make informed judgments. Plenty of reason to be disappointed in a 6 - 10 start, but let's not let ourselves nosedive into speculation and wail that the season is lost. Twins Daily is quite often a fun place to be. We know that certain kinds of headlines draw eyeballs and comments, but that's not what all of us are here for.
  5. YMMV. We will know a great deal more about the shape of the season and players in it when 20% of games have been played than the just under 10% that have been played so far. Let's see how what we know then measures up to what we think we see now.
  6. Until this team has played 15 more games, articles like this do all three of those players a disservice. There are certainly players who are having stronger starts to the season, but fans who wanted a higher-powered roster out of the gate need to direct their voices several floors up.
  7. Julien's first career multi-homer game came in his 119th career appearance. The home runs were the 18th and 19th of his career, and he moved his OPS from .444 to .757 with today's game. And with a .188 BA to boot. Don't see that combination often.
  8. Astudillo was signed by Softbank as a backup catcher last season. Did not watch many of their games, but did not see him make an appearance even on the bench. He then played winter ball in Venezuela. It does not appear that the Hawks renewed him, or that he got any other offers in Japan or elsewhere for the 2024 season. ☹️
  9. Apparently, he failed to sufficiently impress Annie Savoy. I’d never sleep with a player hitting under .250, not unless he had a lot of RBIs _and_ was a great glove man up the middle
  10. The Roger Angell of Hammond Field, Ladies and Gentlemen!
  11. Didn't your Dad ever tell you that the road to Hell is paved with good intentions?
  12. Is Miranda even in the picture any more? He seems to be the odd man out in an infield crowded with talent.
