  1. I love Kyle Farmer and he deserves nothing more than a D ………..Brooks Lee deserves a D-…,… You're a hard man, JD, but it were a hard year, warn't it? 🤠
  2. Report that stadium officials cracked down on the carrier of a sign critical of Twins ownership. Have any other news outlets corroborated this story? Anything on the police blotter? Hard to believe the club could be that dense, but then again they did screw up their TV broadcast arrangements and cut payroll the year after a successful post-season. 🤯 UPDATE: In their Patreon podcast, Gleeman & The Geek corroborated the fact that the sign carrier was asked to leave the premises. Apparently the club maintains that he was drunk and disorderly. Nothing on the arrested and banned elements of the story.
  3. A tad harsh with Farmer, Martin, Miranda, Lee and Vasquez. Otherwise in full agreement. Leave out the injuries. That's out of player control. Unless it would be to give more credit to Larnach (and others) for finding a way to overcome their hurts.
  4. My count may be a little off. 17 of 39 should be correct. Still stinks.
  5. For sheer putridity - 1981 (48-61-1 in a strike-shortened season) Continued futility - 1982 (60-102) More strike madness - 1994 (53 - 60) Why stop there? - 1995 (56 - 88) A hair worse than '82 - 2016 (59 - 103) The Sand Pebbles - 2024 (70 - 53, then 12 - 27), as not seen on TV
  6. Don't get your hopes up. My heart was broken one too many times in '96...
  7. The Twins actually took a lead in this one! A couple of bad pitches from Bailey Ober reversed that trend, and the offense went remained quiet, as the team ended their year on a four-game losing streak, leaving their final record at 82-80. Fixed yer article. Didn't matter if you filled the lineup card with veterans or rookies, the results never changed. Two runs (or less) a game day after day will sink any ball club. The Twins did it 17 times in the 39 games following the 19 August loss to Texas. Embarrassing and sad.
  8. Order of the Day: Kyle Farmer is a stud muffin. Bleacher belly-aching ends now. That is all.
  9. That's Why They Call It Flushing Next stop for Nate - the Catskills!
  10. And to top it off, we have to watch LaMonte Wade play in a Giants uniform. ☹️
  11. The Astros put on a contact hitting clinic. Really proud that the Twins did not lie down. There is hope for the next two games in the series because they were able to roger Houston's bullpen tonight. Miranda, wow. His story should be a lesson to every fan and reporter who wants to write-off a player that maybe they ought to pause a few minutes longer before hitting the "enter" key.
  12. Solid batting practice versus a pair of cupcake teams begins to erase the East Coast embarrassment. I am on board with the sausage replacement.
  13. This. And while we're at it, let's remember that these players are young, and they are human. The gods may grant them glory, or they may just allow a mug shot on the Baseball Reference page.
  14. The question was: Which team would you sign with if contracts, state taxes and rosters were not a factor? 86 players responded, which is a small sample. At 2.3%, Minnesota tied with 5 other clubs in 8th place. 12 clubs did not get a vote at all. Beats a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.
  15. ... find a player who can hit and play enough defense at first base to contribute positively... You rang? oh, and you forgot, "... able to take baserunners to the mat!"
  16. Question - Why has Anthony LaPanta been in the broadcast booth the past two games? Have only been able to watch the re-sprays lately, so may be missing an explanation for Cory Provus' absence...
  17. Meh. The navy on ivory Twin Cities uniform is connected enough. This "make everyone and no-one happy" *ahem* design *ahem* belongs in a dumpster somewhere along Lake Street...
