  1. I think it's different for small market teams because it restrains the team in other areas. For Large Market teams with plenty if money to blow that salary is reasonable.
  2. The fact no one is calling to trade for Correa says it all. He's too injury prone and his salary is too high .. We're stuck with him whether you like it or not. Just need to hope he has a season worthy of his salary. That's a high bar, considering his injury history ..
  3. If they trade Lopez, they might trade Correa as well. Save 58k in salary cap and pick up a ton of talent.
  4. But that would require the Twins to spend money. Maybe if they would accept Mexican Pesos ..
  5. Maybe if you could ban the Star Tribune from reporting on him ... s
  6. It would take some type of salary cap I'm afraid. But then, I;ve always wanted baseball to have a salary cap as well.
  7. PERFORMANCE BASED PAY .. Well, there's an idea. Why doesn't every player get paid based on performance? Give everyone a base salary and pay them on performance based on everyone else. Naw, that would make too much sense ..
  8. And as one fan since 61 to another, Bob. Our time is running out to win another WS .. 🤗 Although, my first preference would be a Vikings SB ..
  9. These are supposed to be out with the old and in with the new. I'd leave Correa and Buxton out ..
  10. Son he battles it out for the 5th slot and if he gets beat out but we like him, maybe long reliever?
  11. Please, please, please trade him. We have enough young, promising infielders to fill in the gap, especially if we can get 2 or 3 hot prospects to boot. Losing that 36 mills will go a long way towards regaining equilibrium of our payroll.
  12. Thanks for such a detailed and well-written article. Now I feel up to speed. Wes Clarke makes a lot of sense. I love his power profile. Crim is interesting but can't get past the fact he is only five-ten. There are a couple of intriguing pitchers for our bullpen, even if they are starters. That doesn't mean they can't compete for a starter's role down the line, but we do not need another starter at this time. Boy, do we need a power-hitting first baseman
  13. I asked for a gold watch, and they give me trinkets.
  14. And the Twins almost gave up on Laurnach not giving him the opportunity until the last second.
  15. We are loaded with starting pitchers and he's is our best closer. Why the heck would we do that?
  16. As for power. The kid is only 19 years old. let the power come naturally. Don't alter his swing to create more.
  17. The only thing redundant on the roster is the injuries ... Good one. Well, actually, it's not funny, but some things you just have to laugh at. As for the first base comment, I've been saying Wallner would make an altar first baseman someday and solve a position of need. That is, if he could develop into a quality defender, I believe he would be fully capable of doing so. Think, mini Justin Mornoe with more power.
  18. I'm disappointed we didn't protect Richardo Olivar, but maybe he's young enough that no one will want to put him on their 25-man roster yet. The question is, will we pick someone
  19. We have fewer players not on the list that would be at risk of being lost to rule 5 than slots available. It's a non issue this year ..
  20. How good is his knuckleball in terms of swings and misses, and hits? Does it come out of the same slot angle disguised as a fastball? I'm just thinking about Santana's slider. That one pitch made him great. Can Lewis' knuckleball do the same for him?
