I acknowledge your point of view. Now tell me this: where is the line between poor sportsmanship and having a good time? What should and what should not be taken seriously, and how seriously is too seriously to take something? It comes down to just how far up one's ass the stick should be. It seems we have different opinions about that. Baseball is not every other major sport. The NFL allows silly TD celebrations, but it should be pointed out that none of those include in-your-face confrontations with the defense, and there is a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct. The NBA is much faster-moving than baseball and celebrations are usually limited by the need to start playing defense immediately after a score. And then there's hockey. Should baseball be like hockey in that fighting when there's a disagreement is an integral part of the sport? That's one of the reasons I no longer care to follow the NHL. With freer expressions of celebration will come stronger reactions, more confrontations, and more fighting. As for me I would like to watch the sport I love without such crap.
