  1. Congratulations. And I like the name. Will it be Ed, Edward, Eddie, or Eduardo? There's also another option: there's a player in the HOF named Edd Roush. Edd with two d's.
  2. I didn't notice that before. If the coach is not sure until the last minute whether he'll send the runner he should be wheeling the runner and then stopping him at the last minute, not the other way around.
  3. It could happen. Remember we're playing the White Sox, and if we can punish them in game 1 their bullpen will be thin. Let's get a sweep!
  4. I'm surprised they didn't go with Slegers, but one of the reasons not mentioned so far for choosing Littell is to give him a little positive reinforcement. He and the team are all well aware that this is a one-and-done callup and he's pitching against an inferior team so it's a relatively low-pressure situation. It's much different than, for example, becoming part of the rotation replacing an injured starter during the heat of a pennant race. I hope the team tells him that and that he should just let it fly.
  5. It took four years for him to return to the level of play that would have been expected of him had he not sustained his 2013 concussion, and I fear he won't be back at his expected level of performance again this season. As is the case with all of us, I have no inside information and I'm not a neurologist but with these symptoms returning I think this is probably his last season.
  6. Here's the way to look at it from "The Life of (who else?) Brian".
  7. The perspective of most people posting to this thread is what one would expect from Twins fans: Seattle scored only two runs because our pitchers were very good, not because their batters were very bad. We scored only one run because our batters were very bad, not because their pitchers were very good. Seems to me it was a low scoring game because all the pitching was good. It's thought by most people knowledgeable about baseball that good pitching will keep good batting down. This game was actually what to expect from two good teams. It was disappointing to lose the game but not shameful in any way.
  8. Going into spring training Adrianza, Escobar, Garver and Grossman were expected to be the bench, and that's with a 12-man pitching staff. Subtracting Polanco, Castro and Mauer leave us with what we have. Would Falvine have been able to find better than the current bench during the offseason? Maybe, but I doubt it when 29 other teams were shopping for the same types of players.
  9. 17 of our last 23 games are against the Royals, the White Sox, and the Tigers. If we can stay even with Cleveland until then we should be able to pull away down the stretch.
  10. Like I said, Rosario caused the bad throw. Your scenario didn't happen and it was because of Rosario's play.
  11. Game ball to Rosario!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Why do they have to spoil a festive time by previewing tomorrow's starters?
  13. I agree to disagree. He caught the CF by surprise which is the reason the throw was bad. He forced the defense to make a mistake.
  14. 2 runs on 1 hit, with an assist from Gardy on the IBB.
  15. Now that was REALLY good baserunning. This is what I mean when I say Rosario has an instinctive feel for making great plays.
  16. Some of Joe Maddon rubbed off on him. Maddon once intentionally walked Josh Hamilton with the bases loaded. Tampa Bay won that game.
  17. He never stopped drinking long enough for it to get that low.
