  1. No idea how Rojas will end up, but I think Bradley will be a solid rotation piece, and Abel could be a keeper too. Way too early to write off any of those players.
  2. Compared to some of the other prospects in our system I haven't read that much about Marek Houston this year. For a first round pick there are certainly high expectations. For those that saw him play this season, how did he look at this point?
  3. I'd love a change of manager, but as others have posted, a new GM would also be a good move. As for Torii Hunter ... I'd pass on him.
  4. Follow the Brewers example and find a generous local restaurant to offer free burgers, but lower the number ... freebies for 4 wins in a row!
  5. Yes indeed, That was one of the few positive changes I noticed this season.
  6. Please, let us hope that he does NOT follow the Miranda and Julian path.
  7. Royce Lewis has had himself a pretty good month so far. Any chance of getting this type of production during the rest of the season too? Man, that would be a huge help for this team. Plus, if Lee starts to find his groove thing more consistently that will be a bonus too.
  8. Thanks for that article. Some useful possible players to think about, but until we have some sort of game plan or clarification of what they intend to do by the front office, this is all just fantasy.
  9. I agree, There are still too many variables and uncertain factors with the ownership and front office, so who knows which pitchers will still be around in March. But I still hold out hope that the Twins don't trade either Lopez or Ryan. If we seriously want to contend next season, and I still think that's doable if we can put together a decent bullpen, then we need to keep both of those guys. Sure, we have arms like SWR and Ober, plus Matthews, Bradley and Abel that can step into the rotation, but I'd still feel more confident with Lopez and Ryan with the team.
  10. And then there was one. Sigh. Just the inevitable almost-the-end of another minor league season. at least we still have one team left to follow. Thanks to everyone who contributed to these reports. They are always helpful and enjoyable.
  11. Very informative article. I like this type of analysis, looking at factors in the pitcher's approach that I wouldn't normally notice. But, unfortunate timing after Bradley's rocky start. Get 'em next time, kid.
  12. Yeah, it was nice to see a few positive developments in that game. Tiny steps.
  13. Excellent article, and I applaud Matthew for writing it and TD for putting it online. Sure, we all come here for Twins baseball news and related stuff, but it's also refreshing, and I think necessary, to look at other aspects of this great sport and how it affects other human beings on the planet.
  14. When I saw the game results posted online, all I noticed at first was the 7-0 score, and of course my initial knee-jerk reaction was: stomped by the Yankees again, But then I actually focused and realized the the TWINS were the winners of this shutout! What an unexpected and wonderful surprise. Great game, Simeon!
  15. On a possibly positive note, have the Twins found a possible backup catcher next season with Pereda? Sure, he's older and we're dealing with a small sample size for this season, but he seems reasonably competent so far.
  16. We went from last to first in 1991 (okay, that was more than a few years ago) but it can happen again. Hey, this is baseball and all sorts of weird and wonderful things can happen. I wouldn't bet much money that the Twins can compete and make the playoffs next season, but I ALWAYS have hope.
  17. Sadly, this might be the eventual outcome for Lee.
  18. That would be a very cool stat, but honestly, I just want him to stay healthy and not take any unnecessary risks in this already lost season.
  19. Little went right for the Saints on Wednesday. I was wondering when Little was going to play again. Sorry, I couldn't resist that one! It's been one of those seasons, right?
  20. As several others have said, it's really too early to make an accurate judgement on those trades. Overall, sure the early results are dismal. The only one that I really had high hopes for was Taj Bradley and he's looking pretty good so far. Abel seems to have the stuff of a solid rotation piece, but obviously he hasn't pitched well at all during his brief callup. But hey, I'm a patient guy and I'll wait and see what happens with these guys, Players like Outman and Roden don't seem like keepers to my eyes, but miracles can happen. The real "keepers" will undoubtedly be the prospects like Tait who are still a few years away.
  21. Very good reasons to start looking for a new manager as soon as this season ends. Yeah, yeah, yeah, he already signed an extension for next season, but it wouldn't be the first contract the team ate. With all the current upheaval going on, I think getting a new manager should be one of the off-season priorities.
  22. What sort of process is this? And how long does it take?
