  1. It would be nice to get to the ALDS or even play in a WS win or not. These one and out with not wins is depressing. IMO we will never get there. Possible chance next year if Cruz can hold up and they get an Ace. After next year our major players will start Free Agency and we will start another rebuild.
  2. 101 wins was great! Not winning a game in the playoffs not so great.
  3. Wasn't that last year? I guess extending would count. I have to believe they know what they are doing but I am afraid last year was our year and we didn't have the pitching to go all the way. I
  4. I would HATE to see Buxton or Sano go. I would not like Rosario or Kepler to go. But that being said wouldn't it be better to trade one now before they hit free agency and get nothing? Is it possible they will sign them before free agency and it will all be good? Do you think Buxton or Sano would lock in early or wait? We have 3 years left of Buxton and I read somewhere that Sano is the least likely to be resigned. They ticked off Buxton last offseason not sure what that will do. Could Sano and a few minor league players get us a good pitcher in the prime of his career or do you think it would take Buxton?
  5. I honestly do not know much about the 2 new pitchers and have heard Donaldson's name over the years but is this just like the dumpster diving we are used to? Is the new front office better at dumpster diving? Seems like we are just getting older players near the end of their careers.
  6. It sure seems like it. Hoping 2019 wasn't a fluke like it seemed 2017 was. Latest big name signing was Cruz it was awesome but not huge. Twins right now have 2 players over 10m an year. A pitcher and a DH. Odorizzi plays every 5 day and Cruz bats 4 maybe 5 times a game. The fans came back and it is time to do something huge now
  7. And we know they won't spend or can't get it done. NEVER HAVE NEVER WILL.
  8. Free agency was a bust instead of trading why not just bring up the farm and see who will succeed and who won't. By not signing a top free agent we are not going to get any better. I have kind of always thought we leave good top signing players in the minors too long anyway.
  9. I am wondering......what will Buxton, Berrios, Sano, Polanco and Rosario do now. It seems obvious that the Twins will never sign a top free agent. I may get the word here wrong but do you think any of them would sign an extension to stay here, they will mostly likely be able to get good money in free agency and go with a team that has the goal and will go all out to win a WS? I am sure there is frustration for them now too. A couple of years where the FO threw in the towel or like last year go get someone to help win the series. I would think be on a team that goes for it every year would have some appeal. This may be a stupid question buy I can't imagine any decent player wanted to sit around for this to hspp
  10. I didn't expect much mostly because it has been a well known fact that players do not want to come here. I would say it is mostly because they don't see the ownership going all out to win a WS. There was a lot of hub bub in 2015 and 2017 when the team still had a good chance but decided to throw in the towel and off load some of their decent players at the trade deadline. So they are kind of stuck. Some of the players have the Twins in their contract as a place they can't be traded to. The Pohlad's or FO always say they will spend but never to. They haven't been to the WS since 1991 and haven't won a play-off series in forever. Also in the past the coaches had their favorites and they played whether they deserved it or not. That really changed this year for the better. players know they need to earn their playing time. Once they get one big name and maybe go a round or two in the playoffs more players will want to come here.
  11. Torii was know to have an attitude. Dozier spoke out and was gone and someone else the year before him when they gave up on the Twins by the trade deadline. We have had players that were what I consider passionate Gomez and others about the game labeled as cocky.
  12. Players like Sano, Buxton and Berrios should go for free agency. They will get the money probably more if they wait. Let's pretend they are going to be a good as anticipated why would you want to stay on a team that has no goals of WS or is handicapped by not being able to attract star power. Most of them have dream't about winning or at least playing in a WS since they were young boys. They will have more money than they need by that point. It may be a little early to judge the front office but the history of the Twins is to let the good players go when big money is ude. They will blame it on a comment or attitude but really they don't want to pay them, they would rather go with the players that still make close to league minimum. How many players in the last few years have been let go for a comment they made about the Twins letting players go and giving up by the trade deadline. So many have been accused of having attitudes and then magically are traded. Maybe the new FO and Baldelli can change that but like many have said, players talk and I am certain they know much more that we do. Aaron Hicks is now making 10 million, they never resigned Johan Santana, Torii Hunter, Justin M, Micheal C.
  13. I think it is adorable that people think we will keep Sano, Buxton or Berrios. there will be some reason or excuse to get rid of them. I think money might be second to playing on a contending team or in WS. Some of them already have more money than most of us will see.
  14. I knew they wouldn't get a big name but I kept peeking in just in case. I am just as frustrated by just as worried about they trading away, Berrios, Buxton and Sano when their big pay day is due. There will be some excuse but there will be one. I for one wouldn't want to come here and if I as Berrios, Buxton or Sano I would be hoping to get traded to a team that wants to win a WS not a team that thinks making the play-offs and not winning a good. Last year was horrible, we got an extra 3 LOSING games. Big whoop!
  15. Just read through the MLB.com long article about Trade Rumors. Not one mention of the Twins. Not ONE!
  16. I always thought with the old coaches that they held players back just to keep them at the lower salary longer. I think they should bring him up and let him succeed or fail and then move on.
  17. How could Dozier go downhill so quickly? Last year was a complete flop. He only has gotten 7 at bats in the playoffs with zero hits and 2 strikeouts. He is only 32.
  18. There always has to be someone to hate on. We had the Sano and Buxton hate earlier this year and there is nothing to hate on for them right now so let's choose Eddie. This group will never be happy.
  19. What I saw as a difference maker this year is it didn't matter the name on the jersey they played the best possible players where in the past 4-5 people were in the line-up that maybe needed a week on the bench just for motivation. They also have brought in the staff and players like Cruz to set the tone. Each and every guy in their line-up knows there is someone right behind them waiting to get their spot.
  20. They need to lock in Cruz for a few years too. But they can/should spend the most on pitching and be able to re-sign Buxton, Sano, Kepler, Garver and Rosario.
  21. One and done is not successful. Not winning at least one is embarassing. I don't know why they didn't leave Berrios in longer. Yes he was at 80+ pitches but I am pretty sure the outcome would have been different. What are you saving is arm for Spring Training? Not starting Odorizzi in game 2 unbelievable and Perez should be #3. Gibson coming in???????????? Why did we get Romo if we aren't going to use him? Relying on Duffey??????
  22. It is just a mild sprain, I am sure Arraz would want to just tape/wrap it up and get out there and play.
  23. I guess it depends on the grade of the sprain but maybe he can just tape it and still play. Our gymnasts have sprains are are able to compete with the help of tape. Especially if it a meet where you need to qualify for regionals or nationals.
