  1. This is one of the harder players to keep or part with. With the way the season is going and the past 20 years, MY feeling is the Twins will never ever ever be a contender. I would guess players like Berrios would prefer to get traded and with the history we have seen will improve on a different team. I don't like to think that players would play at a level to get traded, but with all his talent I wonder how he feels about spending the next 2 prime years of his career being on a team that will never be a contender. I don't think for many players it is all about money. They probably dream of starting a WS game or hitting a game winning HR in game 7 of a play-off game. Not going to happen here (sorry, I know that is negative). I 100% believe Jose can be a #1 on any team, he may be deflated on this team and just trying to get through the next 2 years but bet he is hoping he gets traded sooner rather than later. I don't like numbers just love watching the game. I tune in every game Berrios pitches but lately he just looks average and that is hard for me because I will think he could win a Cy Young if he is on the right team. I also loved Buxton. I still love watching him play WHEN he does.
  2. I said this a while back and got "scolded". I would trade him now mostly to get something in return while we can. Secondly he most likely wants a team where he has a chance to go deep into the playoffs and that is why he is not signing any type of extension. I really like him and want the best for him and after 30 years w/o a WS appearance combined with every thing else, this team will never be the contender we were asked to believe in when they so badly needed Target field to be contenders. How many years are they into Target now and how many playoff games have they won? Sorry but I am never going to be a glass half full fan it is to disappointing!
  3. All the players we counted on except for Cruz has "disappeared" Sano, Donaldson, Buxton, Kepler and Mehata were heavily counted on and have failed miserably. Not sure which one is the most pathetic. Kepler looks miserable. I think it was late game yesterday when he hit into a double play, while I was super mad at the time the look on his face was blank. I still hold out hope for Sano to be just like Cruz and am about to give up on EVER getting a full season of Buxton. IMO we haven't had a dependable BP for many years. All the numbers I see hurt my head I just want our "stars" to play like that or at least play like the belong in the MLB.
  4. I love him! You can see the joy of playing major league baseball in everything he does. I also think he is a good player that many teams would love to have because of his flexibility in positions! Many fans tune in to see certain players. Mine are Berrios, Sano, Astudillo and Cruz. Buxton is also exciting but so frustraing at the same time.
  5. I know it is only 2 games but they are only 4 games into the season. They need to find some type of migraine medication that he can take daily to prevent if they can. It is just getting annoying and missing 50% of the games the norm. Overreacting yes but when you think of it he is a softy. Old school, my leg is about to fall off would be laughing at him. I have never had a migraine and know that the pain is horrible but we don't even know if that was it. He can sit out with a tummy ache if he wants to.
  6. WE HAVE WAITED LONG ENOUGH! Why do the Twins always have to go for the cheap players? They will not attract fans, Berrios, Buxton, Sano and Cruz do. They should be shown how the club values them. In my option none will sign an extension if they do not keep Cruz. They will want to go to a team that will be stocking up for a WS or at least a good play-off run. There is more than money involved, these guys also want to win or play in the WS. If they start to rebuild (which I thought was done) most of these guys will be past their prime by the time the Twins get close again. They should keep them all and get another good to great starting pitcher.
  7. Why do we ALWAYS have to talk about trading our talented players? They may not sign extensions because they want to go to a team that can go deep in a pennant chase. This team doesn't appear to be able to do this. Keep them all at the $$$$ they deserve. Why go back to dumpster diving. Players leave here in droves and go on to successful careers. I thought this management team would somehow be different but are they going cheap because of the Pohlads? They may cost money but they bring in the fans. My favorites are anytime Berrios pitches, anytime Buxon gets on base and the excitement of Sano and Cruz is what makes baseball fun. That was what I did not like about Mauer he wasn't exciting after his concussion and even before as he watches the first few pitches and at first was very talented at getting on base if he was down. Not so much at the end and it appeared he didn't really care (I am sure he did but he didn't show it). We have the players we have been waiting for and if the coaches can't bring out their best then we should focus on them.
  8. Or give up too easily (Hicks) or can’t/couldn’t develop them?
  9. Is it partly because the Twins keep players in the minors too long?
  10. Our studs or so called studs are here but they have not been managed well by anyone. Sano all sorts of trouble and this year he really couldn't hit. Buxton biggest baby ever! The rest seem to play inconsistent baseball, you see a glimmer of a star one year and then gone the next. Berrios should have went all 9 yesterday. No one scored anyway. Cruz is a good DH maybe we could do better. If i could keep 3 players I would go with Berrios Cruz and Mehta. I am pretty sure they all would prefer to play on a different team anyway. Imagine Berrios in Pin Stripes! Buxton would not be babied like he is here.
  11. Horrible and disappointing and that is putting it mildly. This was our time and now it is very close to rebuilding time and we have not won a single game since the must have to win Target field was built. Blame can go everywhere. My biggest complaint about this year was pulling Mehta and Berrios in the 5th inning or around 75 pitches I think they wanted to stay in they are both COMPETITORS who want to win anything else is a failure. What the flip was Baldelli saving them for? Buxton must have been cleared to play so why was one of our best on the bench? Is he a big baby that can't play with a hang nail or is it management trying to save for something? If he is that big of a baby get rid of him now. The whole bunch of them either played like a deer in headlights! Not professional at all!
  12. Buxton has to play the rest of the games or we could be resting him for nothing or to play the Yankees in the first round.
  13. Why do they pull Berrios and Majeda so early. If anyone can work out of a jam it is them. Seems like if a pitcher lets a team score 2 runs they are pulled. Seems they are pulling more often after 5 innings now than 7. I would trust either of these two even if they have 100 pitches more than I trust some people in BP.
  14. How about sitting Buxton so much? He sat out last Sunday, one of the double header games. Team off 2 days and he is sitting again today? That is a huge worry. Resting him for the playoffs doesn't make sense either because we need to win now to get there. I am worried if we don't get into first somehow we will end up playing the Yankees in the first round so all of this babying him won't be worth it. He can buck up and play for two weeks in a row and if not do we really need him? I love him and watching him play is amazing but it is getting old and FAST.
  15. Hope Buxton can play the rest of the games. Seems he needs about every other day off right now and we seem to lose those games.
  16. Why is Buxton a part-time player? This is his prime! Short season and already missed half?
  17. I didn't hear why Buxton was out yesterday?
  18. I feel like we will end up with the Yankees IF they make the playoffs. I hate this! Disappointment after disappointment!
  19. I do not condone the police officer who killed George Floyd. I do not have enough facts on why Jacob Blake was shot so many times. I do have an issue with putting Jackie Robinson name into the issue. Jackie went out of his way maybe too far to bring African American's into baseball peacefully. He was and always will be remembered as a hero in baseball. George and Jacob were in the act of criminal activity that put them into the situation. I believe the force was excessive but I have never been in the shoes of a police officer so it is hard for me to comment on what should have been done. In the George Floyd case the police officers have been arrested and charged and depending on the facts of the case the Kenosha officers will most likely be charged too. What kind of "justice" are the rioters burning down buildings and looting looking for justice for or is it just a reason to be destructive? They have not given time for justice in this last case. It took 3 years for the drug addict who murdered my dad to justice.
  20. I am torn. I hate that professional sports and celebrities are the people we listen to now. I also think that justice will be done but it takes time. Investigations need to be completed and in this case it may not be easy sorting out the facts before making an arrest. In the George Floyd case the arrests were swift. In my opinion justice is being served and will be in this case too. Besides arresting the officer’s involved what other justice is expected.
  21. How much credit does Avila get for game calling with Majeda and how much "blame" could go to Garver for Hill's trouble?
  22. I really don't care if there is a season or not. I can't watch on TV any longer because of FSN and money, now this. The owners want big TV revenue and we pay for that and the players ridiculous salaries and we pay them too.
  23. I would go to the minor league and start seeing who has it and who does't. Why is Caleb Thielbar still Rochester, he is 32. Bring him up give him one last chance and move on. I have always felt like the Twins keep players in the minor leagues too long. There are 3 others over 30 in AAA. Give them one last shot and be done and let then next group move up to AAA. Bring the 25+ guys from AA to AAA and give them 1-2 more years and then be done with them.
  24. How many years left? This year and next? My biggest fear is Buxton, Sano and Berrio will go with free agency. They will get decent to above average money where ever they sign and it doesn't seem like anyone wants to sign here.
