Roden down. Hmm.. didn't expect that one.. Jackson lives to catch another day.

Well Jackson is on the roster, his position is unknown since we never see him play.

I am wondering if the beat writers will stop carrying water for Shelton and push him on why Jackson is here.  Hayes brought up the excuse again that they can now DH Jeffers with him on the roster.  Yet in two games in the last week we have seen the opposing team use their second catcher as a DH without a third catcher.  Ask him why opposing teams can do it but we can't.

I would maybe get it if he was a top prospect but he is a journeyman catcher with a below .200 career batting average.

Mariners @ Jays. Someone gonna eliminate all over themselves this weekend. Both have been on the losing end of huge trounces lately.

Royals @Guardians. The Powder blue spoilers tour continues across Lake Erie. It may be us soon enough. Bibee 5-13?  Yikes.

Rangers @ Brewers. Wisco needs to help out a neighbor. Seems likely they will.

Orioles @Athletics. Keep winning Green and gold? We need so much help maybe it's useless to watch the out of towns.

Win the next 3  and cut the lead to 3 with a month to go,  be nice to see the Royals win a couple from Cleve ,  if that can happen ??  Why not us !!

I'm really tempted to attend tonight to pick up the yacht rock hat... But I'm also going to the state fair this weekend and know I will be spending way too much money there.

Go to the game and I will buy the hat from you.

I've never been more serious.

I’m so out on Zoll, Shelton, Pohlad.

2 man bench moving forward, lol. Just insanity

A real reporter would ask all of them how going with a 2 man bench is part of making a push for the playoffs.

The blogger at Comics Curmudgeon the other day pointed out that "Sarah" likes to play dangerously: if Jamaal had simply replied "oh, okay, thanks," she would have lost her chance at a sick burn.

The font size doesn't go high enough for me to read that cartoon on my phone. Damn.

Walker Jenkins said he chose to wear No. 11 for the Twins because it was his wife's high school soccer number.

Jenkins wore No. 6 and No. 7 growing up, but those are retired for Tony Oliva and Joe Mauer with the Twins.

I am not a big Bell fan, but right now he is hitting, so do you sit him.  I wouldn't play him in the field, he makes Keaschall look like a gold glover.

I am always afraid to state anything questionable on Buxton as there are some who thinks he walks on water, I have always supported him as a fan, but these injuries and having him not placed on the IL does not make sense. Yes, he did well before the all star break and deserves credit and praise,,,,,but his been batting average has been 132, OPS 246 OBP 246, SLG, 151, RBI 1....now there is a report where he may need surgery on the hip...if this had been anybody else, the person would be on the IL.

i had to look him up...played only 15 games with the Twins...several with Seattle...would that have been the Pilots late 70's/80's ?

I agree and I have been a big supporter as well.  It stinks when you see games like Monday and you think maybe he turned the corner and then Tuesday happened.

He is going to get more slack than most players and that is the way of the world.  But it's past time to shut it down.

yeah,,,,If Jenkins performs (I hope people don't count on him being Superman...he is not going to save the season) this next month, I would be in favor of him being the starting CF in 2027. I do believe that Emma should be called up on September 1.

It's what you do when the ceiling is high.  If, say, Ryan Kreidler* is hobbling, you just IL him and bring up someone else; at 85% he's below replacement level.

If it's someone like Buxton and he's limping, you may judge to rest him because he's at 40% and you hope in a couple of days he's at 85% because at that improved level he's better than who would replace him. (Walker Jenkins being a very temporary and no longer relevant side issue.)  A decision to  IL him costs 10 days - what if he's better in a couple of days and is antsy from not playing?

My complaint with a lot of the discussion about injuries in general is the notion that it's an off-on switch.  Most players are banged up to some degree by this point in the season - several are at any given point.  How much of their game have they lost, and how likely are they to recover by playing through it, are not the simple calculations many make them to be.

Based on what I see, Buxton probably belongs on the 10-day IL at minimum.  But I'm not privy to many facts.
