Right now he is profiling to be a fourth outfielder at best. Would be pretty dumb to give him no actual chance after trading an all star reliever for him, but that’s Twins baseball 65 PAs and Twins fans are all “that’s enough, bring up a 21 year old and start his clock quicker so he can be a Yankee sooner” SD happy, Church of Kreidler, Western SD Fan and 2 others 5

And acquiring made no sense especially after they acquired Outman. He has had 200 ab's in the major leagues with a batting avg of .191 and OPS of .544, what screams he needs to be playing ahead of players like Keaschall or Jenkins. I don't understand this fascination with Roden, he will be 27 before next season and Toronto basically came to the conclusion that he was not a major league player. He has had three different stints in the major leagues and just has not done anything. Someone in his position needs to produce quickly or he is not going to get another opportunity and that point should be coming soon.

Or is he showing why he had only 200 AB's coming into the season. Right now we need his defense until Culpepper is healthy but he is not the answer as the every day shortstop. He needs to be the utility guy for the rest of the season, get Culpepper healthy. mrmpls 1

Tonight he scored 2 runs. Trading Varland was the necessary evil to get the #3 pick. Garlands can be acquired or developed (ie Morris) Lackeys cannot. Rojas and Roden can still provide good value for the Twins. Church of Kreidler 1

Culpepper can bat .199 as long as the Defense plays for the rest of this year fine with me
