Now here’s Jack Anderson to soak up the remaining innings

Can't be any worse than what we are running out there.

Interesting point from Provus, Cleveland has 7 rookies on their team and have a better record.  Maybe playing all these AAAA types isn't as productive as letting the rookies play and learn.  Of course you have to develop them as well.

playing all these AAAA types-- Along with the usual  Retreads we sign every year,    until they change there plan or whatever you call it ,  we will be stuck in Mediocrity

This is the biggest reason I want Zoll gone and new leadership on the baseball side, because I am not convinced he is going to operate any differently than Falvey.

True, but at least if we had some pitching it makes watching a little easier.

Are they still doing that bulk starter BS with SPs in St Paul?

Yes with every pitcher from what I can see looking at the box scores.  Very seldom does anyone throw into the 5th inning and at 60-70 pitches they are pulled.  They are doing this at every level.  In Cedar Rapids their starters are averaging 3.1 innings per start which is the lowest in the Midwest league. I could understand for some younger guys, but I don't see them developing any starters to be ready to pitch up here as a starter.

Play-off pipe dream over. No reason to start burning option years or keep Veterans that can help other teams. Trade off what they can and stock up on prospects...

Not just prospects.  Good prospects this time.

Problem is management doesn't know what a good prospect is. How many are contributing from our big sell of last year? I know Abel is hurt and some aren't ready, but i am skeptical that they know how to judge talent. Other team GM's probably salivate when they know they can fleece us with "prospects".

Jim Pohlad didn’t pick the right guy on Cleveland’s media guide back in 2016 evidently

I want a baseball guy first who knows how and when to use analytics.  Falvey was a numbers guy and there has been no balance.  And Zoll seems to be the same.

Exactly! I just posted the same thing. We got marginal talent during our big sell off.

Don't take this as a callout.  I'm using your post to ask the question.  If this is what they are doing, why are prospects like Quick and Dasan Hill so highly touted?  I understand they may have the tools to be a ML pitcher, but if they don't get a chance to truly stretch out, then what is the point?

The baseball operations needs to be blown up, maybe the scouting director can stay, he seems to know what he is doing.  But this team has no plan or knows how to identify and develop talent.

Should have used him before Paredes blew up and Rogers followed.
