Last time they had one of those, Maynard G Krebs got two broken ribs.

Heh, making a comment like that did cross my mind but decided I'd rather be thought adorable than scary

You can have it all, you know.

I guess things could be worse.

JR could've signed Joe Blanton for 2 at $15M guaranteed.

In all seriousness, can someone give me a reason why Bernier is even on the 40 man roster, much less the 25 man roster, and IN THE STARTING LINEUP?

This team is supposed to be working toward 2014 and beyond, right? Hasn't Ryan specifically said that dreams of contention in 2013 were just that, dreams?

What possible use to future Twins teams is Bernier?

I can only come up with one reason.

According to B-Ref he leads the league in three categories, what Twins pitcher can make that claim?

148 hits allowed leads the league? That can't be correct. Worley beat that by the third inning in one April start alone.

And with that I bid you good night. See you when they play at a decent time.

Very nice play by Bernier.

Here's the logic, as I see it. You need to sign some AAA filler every once in a while, and guys like that are handy. They will be more likely to sign if they can get a chance in the majors. The Twins need more middle infielders, and maybe it won't be Bernier, but it doesn't hurt to let him have a couple of weeks and see what they've got.

If he doesn't work out, fine, they DFA him because they're going to need to clear a bunch of spots on the 40-man next year anyway. If he's better than expected, then they have a tough decision that is good news.

What's the harm?

Dick acts like his viewers don't watch the Twins often (heck, even occasional)..we know about the two-strike Mauer thing, because you tell us about it every time Mauer has two-strikes. Jesus.

I'd like Dick to talk about Mauer's batting average with two strikes.......it's worth mentioning .

Yeah, then maybe he'll mention it to Tom Kelly.

....look, we're playing the Indians again!
