That's my point, if he is a starter then we are going nowhere.  He is not a starter on a winning team, so put him in the role he should be and try to move this team forward.  Or else, we will be in the same spot next year at this time not know who our first baseman is.

To disqualify him as a starter on a winning team is not right. There have been plenty of guys that hit like he does, and are versatile good defenders that have started for winning teams. Not everybody on winning teams are that far above average.

He was a DFA pickup and is 30 years old with limited upside.  He will go on a hot streak for 7 to 10 days, then you have to live the flyouts and strikeouts.  No one else to this point in his career thought he would be beneficial as a starter to help their team.   Let's try and raise the bar of expectations for this team.

We can certainly raise our expectations, but all that's going to do is lead to disappointment.

Keaschall seems to have zero idea of his strike zone, swinging at really bad pitches and worse putting a lot of them in play. I can say I didn’t see this coming after last season. The scouts found something during the offseason.

At some point there is something off with the development of these players.  Not every young player who comes up and has success should be going backwards.  But that is happening with our young players.  Yes baseball is a hard game, but players on other teams are figuring it out, why can't our players.

I guess Twins scoring five runs is a nice surprise.

Last year wallner hit around 20 homers and had around 40 rbi's  ...

Have you noticed Buxton has 17 homers and only 27 rbi's  ...

Clearly Buxton is going to break wallners record if it is a record ...

Good point, yeah if he’s around next year, maybe it’s a legitimate complaint, but this is this year and things aren’t going to change so harshing Clemens isn’t really fair. Could just as well say the same about most all the other starters or former starters from this year’s team.

And that may end up being the answer on what to do with Lewis, at least temporarily.  Whenever they think Lewis is ready to come back up, he may end up replacing Keaschall and go back to playing third while Lee and Clemens would share 2nd.

I love the apple TV option to hear the radio announcers instead. Apple TV announcers are insufferable. Would take danny gladden over them in a heartbeat.

The only neat part of the Apple TV game is the mic'd up bit. The announcers make me yearn for Morneau.

It is a long and disturbing list.

The radio option also lets you listen to the opposing team's radio broadcast.  I'm listening to the Pirates broadcast tonight for a change of pace.

Do they let Taj out for the fifth inning? (Assuming we get the last guy out.) I mean they wanted to delay this start.. they won't let him throw 100 pitches yet..

I'm not sure they do.  Next 4 hitters are 2 lefites, a switch hitter, and a righty in the heart of the order.  May be a line for Funderburk to come in.

Why wait for next year, start evaluating what you have in St. Paul now so you know where you need upgrades for next year.  Attebery had a great comment on the radio side tonight,  he said it is hard to score run when you have at least three guys in your lineup who should be the 26th man on your roster.  And what he didn't mention is that we have three guys sitting on the bench that should be the 26th man on your roster.  So we basically wasting 5 roster spots.

I am not bashing Clemens, I am bashing the Twins organization for this cluster of a roster that is forcing these guys to get regular playing time.

The game is close is Rogers a better bet?

Brooks is patient. When we have waited we have had decent results tonight.

As a whole, they were doing that in April but they have gotten away from the patient approach. Frustrating because their best chance is to get into a team's bullpen early on, but that's hard to do when opposing pitchers can get through an inning with sometimes 10-15 pitches.

Maybe.  But if you want a lefty for later in the game, you may need Rogers.  Rogers only threw 7 pitches yesterday.  Banda threw 14 but may not be your first choice out of the pen either as you'd want to keep a lefty for tomorrow.
