Does anyone have a bar that players should reach as a hitter? We can consider that the bar includes below average defense. Is it .220? .250? .700 OPS? .750 OPS? What should e expect from our position players at the plate or is that not worth thinking about?

Assuming below average defense, then .750 OPS is probably the bare minimum to be an overall positive to the roster. Even that might be too low. League average .721 OPS according to B-Ref.

Hit and drive in runs ...

I like Perada over Vaquez from what I have seen so far...

How far he throws it to center field?

Think he should be in the mix for next spring. I think Vazquez should also be offered a one year cheapie

I will never forgive him for what he did to Apollo Creed

My favorite player name (non Twins) is Dooley Womack.
Obscure enough in the 60s I heard that a radio station had a phone in quiz with the question "Who or what is a Dooley Womack".

With the CBA I don't think he can be offered less than 80% of his current contract by the Twins.

No way the Twins will sign him for 8 million when they have Gasper in the system.

Sorry....it would have to be considerably less than the 10 million he has now. Decent defensive....but so so horrible offensively

Honest question - if he goes to free agency, can the Twins offer him less than that or can only another team do that?

"Oil Can Boyd"....a good pitcher (although he did get drunk during a World Series game and was  locked down in the manager's officer due to it)...then there are the borderline actual little known players such as Rusty Kunts, Dick Pole  Charlie Furbish..

I always liked Pumpsie Green! First AfricanAmerican to play for the Red Sox…… probably difficult in 1959 Boston.

BTW, is younger brother Cornell Green was a longtime Dallas Cowboy safety!

Feels like that’s an arbitration rule and not for a guy who’s entering free agency

We are 6+ weeks since the trade deadline and have come up with 0 answers in the bullpen for 2026. Wasting opportunities on guys who have 0 future here. Hopefully Lawyerson is a guy? But he should have been up on August 1 to find out.

Abel was given a chance but sent down , sure he'll be given every opportunity to earn a roster spot out of spring training  ...

Arizona fall league would have been a good opportunity for more work ,,,

Abel wasn't given much of a chance even in a lost season. 1 start, 1 bullpen appearance then sending him back to AAA. Meanwhile we've given DFA castoffs like Brooks Kriske 12 appearances, Genesis Cabrera 10 appearances, Thomas Hatch 8 appearances, and Noah Davis 4 appearances with disastrous results.
