Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 14 years ago today, the Metrodome roof collapsed. A few weeks later, Brett Favre was pile drived on a frozen TCF Bank Stadium turf that was not built to host winter football. nicksaviking 1
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2024 Author Posted December 12, 2024 I’m rooting for the 49ers tonight. The Rams could be a scary team to face in the playoffs. I’d much rather have the 49ers limp in to eliminate at least one NFC potential on our way to a Super Bowl title Mike Sixel and gunnarthor 2

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2024 Author Posted December 13, 2024 Brock Purdy gives me Dak Prescott vibes and if the 49ers decide to pay him $60+ million they’ll regret it immediately nicksaviking 1

nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 Can the Vikings pay someone from the Rams front office just to draft the Vikings defensive players? I guess they might as wall draft the Vikings offensive players too. Vanimal46 and Danchat 1 1

I was a fan of DT Braden Fiske heading into the draft too. Both of them dominated at Florida State nicksaviking 1

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 In a choice between Tampa and the rams/seahawks in the wild card round, I’m all in on Tampa now. Gotta hope they lose but not enough to fall behind the falcons. Either one of those is a tough road game. Vanimal46 1

Mayfield seems like he's capable of pulling a hero act, but with his tendency to turn the ball over, I think the Vikings could feast on him.

If we keep up this pace he’ll be nominated for GM of the Year even with poor drafting because they knocked it out of the park with free agency. If there’s a positive, the Washington Commanders received nothing from 6 1st round picks between 2018-2023 and they’re still contending this year because they hit on Jayden Daniels. All is forgiven if Kwesi found a franchise QB. Mike Sixel and gunnarthor 2

nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 Deebo has two more years left in this league. A desperate team will sign him next year after the 49ers cut him, he'll go to a third team after that, and then he won't get any offers after failing to do much three years in a row. Time flies in the NFL. Wow I thought it was 2 years ago he was the dual threat RB/WR but that was 2021. Yeah, he’s getting too banged up and not the same player anymore. nicksaviking 1
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2024 Author Posted December 13, 2024 San Fran is a classic Super Bowl hangover team. Should have made more changes but they stuck with their old roster. They are closer to a total rebuild than a Super Bowl run nicksaviking 1

That team just imploded. I think they should clean house and try a rebuild but keep their coaches. See if they can unload some of the talent that doesn't really fit anymore. Unrelated, I want Fred Warner.

TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 That Campbell story is nuts. It just goes to show how quickly things can unravel (or come together) in the NFL. You have to strike when you can in this league, windows don't stay open for long.

SI has an article on Turner. "“I think it was good so we are a little bit more on the same page as far as expectations as far as the work week and things of that nature — not saying that he wasn't working, he's always working, he's a hard-working kid, but exactly what is it? What are we looking at on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday?” Flores explained." Reading between the lines, it seems like they had some issue of his work ethic but things seem to be on the upswing and his playing time (and his PFF grades) has gone up the last few weeks.
