GCTF Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Grand Forks's own Jonathan Toews. Bite your tongue.
GCTF Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Walking the bases loaded will... I repeat will... Piss off a manager beyond... I repeat beyond... Any other thing you can do. Loads of fun for the guys behind you too.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Walking the bases loaded will... I repeat will... Piss off a manager beyond... I repeat beyond... Any other thing you can do. I can imagine what Gardy will say when the inning is over: "Don't unpack your bags."
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 Bite your tongue. Yeah... We claim him!!! Parise 2

greengoblinrulz Provisional Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Postgame Gardy comment....Hernandez 'battled his tail off today'
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 okay ... off to work ... laters all
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Ouch! I hate it when that happens.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Today's gameday contest: Which starter can reach 100 pitches before the start of the 5th inning.
Joe A. Preusser Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Postgame Gardy comment....Hernandez 'battled his tail off today' The ball was really coming out of his hand well today, just not crossing the strike zone.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 That hasn't happened to me since I was 13. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
Joe A. Preusser Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Today's gameday contest: Which starter can reach 100 pitches before the start of the 5th inning. 1.1 - 1 that both do it.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 The ball was really coming out of his hand well today, just not crossing the strike zone. He pitched well, just didn't have a lot of luck - small strike zone today.
GCTF Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Yeah... We claim him!!! Parise 2 You can have Parise. I doubt Toews will be playing internationally for the US any time soon.
Joe A. Preusser Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Different strokes for different folks, I guess. Clever, Sir.
GCTF Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Today's gameday contest: Which starter can reach 100 pitches before the start of the 5th inning. Hopefully neither.
GCTF Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 What's with all the walks, for both pitchers but Hernandez in particular? I think he sucks.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 What's with all the walks, for both pitchers but Hernandez in particular? Maybe it's a relay for life fundraiser - all the players had their family and friends pledge to donate for each time they walk around the bases.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 I can imagine what Gardy will say when the inning is over: "Don't unpack your bags." Turns out... I got hold of the transcript. Gardy: Yo Pedro... Over here a second (Pedro walks over confused). Didn't Andy talk to you... No Walks... no walks... No walks... Pedro: Yo no le comprendo Gardy: (to everyone) Where's Wilken... No... (Starts to take steps with his feet ala charades) Pedro: Caminata? Ce... Caminata. Inning ends... Gardy looks at Pedro just standing there and not going out to the mound. Gardy: You can walk out to the mound!!!
Joe A. Preusser Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 He pitched well, just didn't have a lot of luck - small strike zone today. He attacked the zone well today, unfortunately the zone survived all attacks.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 We went to a show last night that was a parody of the Johnny Carson era of the Tonight Show. I think that you and John would have liked it. Carnac: Parodies.Ed: A topical answer, if nothing else, o Wise One.Carnac: A topical prescription may be needed for this rash of banality.Ed: My apologies, o Seer of Seers.Carnac: [pause] So, any curiosity what the question might be?Ed: Sorry. Parodies. Open the envelope, please.Carnac: Other than singing, what is Dolly Parton best known for?
Joe A. Preusser Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Maybe it's a relay for life fundraiser - all the players had their family and friends pledge to donate for each time they walk around the bases. We'll have a cure in no time at this rate.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 The Chicago Symphony Presents: The Music of Slim Whitman and James Gandolfini. Hear everythingt from "Don't stop Believing" to "Indian Love Call" to "Woke Up this Morning" to "Cattle Call" under the direction of Riccardo Muti. In honor of Gandolfini, the program ends suddenly in the middle of one of the songs.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Hernandez pitching = chinese water torture Yes, speaking of parody, this game and the last one had minor league pitchers parodying what they think major leaguers do. 'Tain't funny.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I had forgotten all about Pedro Hernandez. I'm disappointed at the reminder.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Let's give Hernandez credit - he's missing bats today.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 okay ... off to work ... laters all Misread and saw "taters all". Hoping this applies just to the Twins batters.
Joe A. Preusser Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I had forgotten all about Pedro Hernandez. I'm disappointed at the reminder. No amount of drinking will erase that 2/3 of an inning. I will carry it with me like some horrific bus crash on the evening news.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Turns out... I got hold of the transcript. Sometimes... I dunno... it seems like you just make **** up.
