jaimedude Verified Member Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 Has anyone else noticed all of Royce swings are all upper body, no lower half. Doesn't seem he is using lower half or back leg at all. Wouldn't you shorten up your swing instead of continuing stance if your swing all upper body? Wallner is striking out way too much in September. Doctor Wu 1

mnfireman Verified Member Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 Lewis, much like Buxton last year, has a lower body injury (injuries?) that does not allow him to use his legs and hips to generate power. He is guessing first pitch fastball and swinging (flailing) at it, mostly coming up empty because teams are throwing him first-pitch sliders, sweepers and cutters low and away. Until he can heal over the off-season, this is what he is. ashbury, DJL44, mrtwinsfan and 1 other 2 1 1

bespenson Verified Member Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 I don't think it's his swing, I think it's his smile...just a joyful kid having fun. He epitomizes a spiritless Twins attitude that starts at the top with the manager. It's just kind of like, "oh well, we'll do better tomorrow." Anyone watching the Twins-Cleveland series could see it. The Guardin intensity was written on their faces and obvious in their actions. The Twins, "oh well, maybe tomorrow." And Royce runs his own show...doesn't want to play second base, so Rocco apparently says OK. And Miranda sits the bench. He and Royce are in the same kind of slump but Jose has been more consistent over the year (as evidenced by batting average). And I think he's the better third baseman. Very disappointed that a team with this talent tanks...leadership sucks. RpR 1

Reporter? Nobody of relevance?
