It's such a difficult call because you only get one look at it and the sound of ball on the knob/handle vs ball on the hand is pretty similar.  At the HS level, we don't have replay to fall back on.  We basically have to go based on the batter's reaction and depending on what level can determine the sincerity of that reaction.
