denarded Verified Member Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 I pay for mlb tv and cant watch this game? Again, WTF? Eris, waltomeal, Old Crow and 1 other 4
waltomeal Verified Member Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 You're right, it's unacceptable. MLB.TV's ad clearly states "Stream EVERY out-of-market game LIVE or on demand." Fortunately, Roberto Ortiz and Lance Barrett made tonight's game unwatchable even on Apple TV. Old Crow 1

The announcers were painful and chasing the perfect game (VERY early IMHO) led to pretty spotty coverage of the Twins-Guardians game. Watching the game with no announcers on a half size (or smaller) screen doesn't lead to a good experience. DJL44 and NotAboutWinning 2
wabene Verified Member Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 Personally I like the unique look of the Apple TV broadcast, some of the shots, like from behind the plate on Kirilloff's homer, are cool. It was easy to just half listen to the chatter of the crew. For whatever reason I can't just tune out Morneau, making his broadcasts my least favorite. The droning on and on. Switching to the perfect game, in the seventh inning?, that was no bueno.

Visually, the Apple TV+ broadcasts are awesome. Typically Apple in that regard; they're masters of presentation. Their camera angles are great, the broadcasts focus on the game instead of scorebugs and tickers everywhere, etc. A lot of the rest of the broadcast like the announcers, *very* flawed odds displayed, etc? I can do without all of that. wabene 1
Linus Verified Member Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 Remember when the NFL had announcerless games. It was just the crowd noise and graphics with relevant info. Would love to hear a baseball broadcast do the same thing. So much of the ambiance of a game is the crowd noise.
denarded Verified Member Posted May 19, 2024 Author Posted May 19, 2024 I don't care about Apple TV production values. I care about coming home on a Friday to watch my team play a baseball game. I live in Illinois and pay $124 just to watch Twins. For every game I can't watch take a percentage off my bill (I can't watch Chicago games) Which is no boo hoo compared to Iowa MLB fans. Just dumb and unfair USAFChief 1

Just dumb and unfair Living in market that $124 a year sounds like a steal while I pay $1248 a year for Fubo as they discontinue the few other stations we actually watch. Had to pay $10 to watch the Apple TV game the other day. If I could pay $250 a year for the Twins ala cart, I would gladly do so. It won't be $1248 this year because as soon as a the season ends we will be cancelling Fubo. Hey Pohlads, get wit it Regards, Twins Hostage

I may be off on the number, but not much. I've realized between work and life I don't have time to watch a random Padres/Reds game (Espcecially when I can't watch the game I want to)
