No Pablo Day today. The game will be made up on Saturday as part of a doubleheader. I assume the Twins will call up someone to start one of the two games on Saturday.

Shucks -- the rare straight doubleheader, within driving distance for me, but I have plans for Saturday. I'm the mentor for a high school senior at our church, and his baseball coach has invited each senior to pick someone to throw out the first pitch at one of their games this season. I get Saturday.

But I understand the decision -- if Detroit weather is like ours today in northern Indiana, it would be crummy conditions to play in.

For St. Paul, Boushley started Tuesday and Dobnak Wednesday, so those two would be off the table as No. 27 on Saturday. Festa is scheduled for today, followed by TBD on Friday and Woods Richardson on Saturday, so Woods Richardson would be a convenient choice.

He threw five great innings in his first start, followed by getting shelled in 3.1 in his next. I would prefer he pitch more like he did in the first game.

According to the report, SWR retired the first nine batters in his second start, but the roof caved in for his fourth inning.

Personally, I’d like to see Woods Richardson get the call for Saturday and stay in the rotation for three or four turns and see if he can do the job for the major league team.

Good on you for being a mentor. Your experience Saturday will be far better than a Twins game.

Well then, since Rocco always pulls his starter early (/s), how about if we sign him up for three perfect innings and then go to the pen?

Thanks. It was pretty cool when he texted the invite.

He's a good guy. Three-sport athlete who set his school's career scoring record in basketball and has signed to play at an NAIA school. Good head on his shoulders.

And not to be too vain, but I admit to stepping it off in the driveway and throwing a few pitches to Mrs. IT the other evening. I hope I can at least get it in the neighborhood, but it's been 20 years since I threw batting practice to my son. 😃

Ditto.

And due to the velo at which I threw said BP, the last pitch is just now reaching home plate.

I'll be taking a bit off of my change up.

I don't want to hurt his hand just before the game, you know.

Weather looks pretty wet on Friday, too.

Would certainly rather play the games later in the season when-hopefully-the bats are going.

Does not look good for tonight, have no idea if they are going to try and fit it in.  Rain showers and 24 mph winds, not ideal for outdoor baseball to be sure!
