Looks like another guy is off the board. ESPN's Jeff Passan is reporting that Rhys Hoskins is getting a 2 year deal from Mil for $34 mil, with an opt out after the 1st year.

Lots of deals with opt outs. That will mean a lot of speculation at the trade deadline again for all of these players.

Am glad he’s not around to speculate about any longer. Blah defender & would displace Kirilloff to get his value at $17M - can’t do that. Too expensive, for the performance difference, with the options Team has in front of them internally or with a more flexible guy like Turner.

Seems the Brewers are going to try & make a run this year by signing him & giving Burnes another shot, at least until the deadline.

I am holding out hope for the Twins/Brewers trade where Twins get Devin Williams. Maybe if they falter some, it’s doable at the deadline?

I'm hopeful that the Twins can get their TV broadcast situation figured out before the trade deadline.

You are likely correct that the Brewers want to win the NL Central. Curious why the Brewers would even think about trading Williams when they are trying to win. They won't be eliminated by the deadline. They should be within reach, maybe eight games out at worst.

The money thing is real for the Twins. We can wish for this and that but it is clear that finance appears in the plan. Without worries/concerns, the Twins might have pursued Matt Moore, Michael Wacha, or other reasonable contracts. We continue to hear that the Twins will make a MLB for MLB trade if it makes the team stronger. Polanco could go in such a scenario. However, moving Jorge just pushes the roster figure down if the player returning cost less and the Twins do not send money in a deal. Folks should not be surprised by a final number for the roster to sit around $110-120 million if not lower. Who knows?

The Brewers surprised me a little. The Brewers were in a different crawl space in my head.

With the Rumors of a Burnes Trade... Rumors of a Adames Trade. With the non-tendering of Tallez. With the Trade of Canha. It sure looked like the Brewers were in sell mode.

It doesn't seem that way now.
