What a strange game. Vintage Harry the Hitman performance. Marcus Davenport looked pretty darn good today.

Our offense was mostly trash, minus 2 drives. Carolina didn’t challenge our defense at all, which is weird.

The stars are truly aligning this year to make a Kirk trade… That’s if he is open to it, and the Wilfs won’t interfere. The Falcons and Steelers have awful QB play from their young options. Of course the Jets have made sense instantly when Rodgers tore his Achilles. Let’s make something happen.

100% defensive win, they gave up 6 points and scored 7 themselves. The gameplan worked because Bryce Young couldn't handle pressure and held on to the ball too long, but it's not going to work against any of the good offenses. Awful game from the offense, only 14 points against a middling defense. So much for the predictions about them being a top 10/5 unit, they are barely scoring 22 points a game. And even with the run game functioning well a second straight week, they just can't score points.

Pickett might have wrecked his knee today, so depending on that Kirk could be in play there. I expect the Wilfs interfere, however.

The panthers were running a college style offense. Read options and short passes all day. Young was a top 10 pick and doesn’t look like he’s going to be a transformational player.

Carolina has one of the league’s best backups in Andy Dalton too. I don’t know why Frank Reich wants to limit his offense to nothing but screen passes.

Hopefully Kwesi views trade deadlines in a baseball lens by flipping the expiring contracts for picks if we are 2-5 at the deadline.

I’ll be more upset if Kirk says after the trade deadline no one approached him from the team to approve a trade.

Hunter, Davenport and ? (not Kirk, not happening)

Smith? I don't see that, but I'd do it.....Jordan Hicks....Osborn.

If I'm the GM, I'm trying to get creative, like Osborn and a 4th for a 2nd (not that I can see teams doing that).

I see Hunter as the most likely to get traded. As we are seeing, having a league leader in sacks isn’t making the defense that much better. I’d like a 2nd round pick for him… Davenport, Cleveland, Osborn might fetch us a 4th round or later pick.

For sure, I would hope Kwesi uses some creativity to get some better value out of the trades.

I remain hopeful, if doubtful, this happens.

Possibly.

But Taylor Swift is going to sell more tickets next week than Cousins will.

Joke notwithstanding, I have season tickets and have already sold every game I wasn't going to attend other than the Xmas Eve game, which is always a tough sell anyway. I think the Vikings have already pretty much maxed out their ticket sales, they really only should be concerned with no-shows not buying $15 beers.
