I noticed the Angels have optioned Jo Adell. I don't know if the Angels of Anaheim or whatever they're called these days think this guy has a future, but he has absolutely raked in Triple A this year and he's 24 years old. I have no idea is the values match up, but trading for Adell to replace Garlick as a RH option and perhaps offering a Larnach in return would beak the LH corner outfielder logjam a bit.

My analysis of the Twins roster is they need a right handed corner outfield option who is better than Garlick (that shouldn't be so tough) and they have too many right handed infielders.

Looks like the Angels called him up and he played in Thursday's game where he hit a homer against the Cubs.  The timing for a trade offer might not be quite right.  :)

Yeah, I read the report after Adell's homer. Seems like a young player who is willing to do what it takes to stick in the majors. The article I read mentioned the depth of the Angels outfied, and Adell was only called up because Renfroe went on maternity leave. So who knows, maybe there is still a chance for a deal?

Adell has been mentioned as a trade target by more people than any other player, by far, and for good reason. The power is enticing, the Angels are a little frustrated, and every team thinks they know exactly how to turn him into the next Mike Trout. I doubt the Angels let him go for a song. What would it take? Wallner and Pagan? I have no idea what the Angels see concerning Adell on their roster.

I live in LA and I can tell you that Adell isn't going to get a DFA. The Angels are committed to him longer-term as either a trade asset or they will simply keep him in the system. I think they would be open to trading him because they have a number of core outfielders already and Trout is eventually going to have to the corner. I don't think corner outfielders what they want in return; they are always on the lookout for pitching and need another catcher. I don't think a Wallner and Pagan package would be too enticing. More like a SWR or Festa, or maybe a Headrick plus a AA guy type package would be required.

I would have liked the idea a year or so ago, but I think strikeouts are already becoming a problem for the current Twins team, I think he'd add to the problem.

I don't see enough there to target . He is listed as a left fielder on the Angels roster. But I would trade Kepler for him. About equal as hitters.

He feels like a AAAA player to me. That doesn't mean I wouldn't take his athleticism, and upside, in the Twins system, but he's always mashed in the minors, and been sliced up by big league pitching. There's a hole in his swing somewhere, and I wouldn't want to bet anything big in a trade that we could be the ones to close that hole.
