Guest USAFChief Guests Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 I just saw the replay on that Gomes flare. My question... Does Hicks have a gun or not? Looking at wide angle replay they showed... He had a shot at Victorino at third.I thought the same thing but if he throws to third and doesn't get him, Carry would be pissing and moaning about throwing to the wrong base.

He had a shot at Victorino at third. I just watched it again... If Hicks has the arm everyone says he does... He has to throw to third. Victorino wasn't halfway to third when Hicks had the rock in his hand. Does Hicks not trust himself? Or Did Plouffe hold up a stop sign? Couple that with Plouffes throwing error which was a side arm flick and we have a run given up via complacency.

Yeah but third would be the right base... Nearly impossible for the runner on 1st to advance from that position.

jokin Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Am I missing something? Is there a reason Dozier is sitting again? This is just a guess, but I think some Gardy disgust is kicking in again, the last few games, especially his last one, he was looking like the 2012 Dozier? Besides the costly error, here's the slash line, note the cascade effect: Last 30 days: .222/.247/.309May: .167/.200/.250Last 14 days: .143/.167/.257Last 7 days: .125/.176/.125
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Alright, I think I can say it definitively now: It's not the weather, this sideline girl just cannot string multiple sentences together without falling all over herself. It's painful and someone may need to show her some mercy and minimize how often they spotlight her. At least she's not Inky...
mikecgrimes Verified Member Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Walk the next 6 batters so we don't get through 5 the storm is only 20 miles out
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Boy, it's bad when the Twins haven't had a single hit and every player on the other team has a hit except for 1 guy. The Twins are reaching the point where we won't be getting back to .500 for the rest of the season.
mikecgrimes Verified Member Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Gotta treat this half inning like the bottom of the 9th no way we finish 6

The Twins are reaching the point where we won't be getting back to .500 for the rest of the season. But isn't this pretty much what we expected before the season started? I recall many saying they'd be 'happy' if the Twins finished .500. While watching some of these games is NOT fun (an understatement) did any of you truly, really, in general, expect better?

LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Another awesome display by Seaereeocko. There is an argument to be made that he is Boston's most exciting player, if you allow that excitement is not a universal positive...
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 I couldn't really tell ... where exactly did that hit him? If it's where I think, I can't relate.

LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 And then there was silence....Play resumed and Hicksie batting?

Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 How rainy is it? I live just across the river from downtown and it has already stopped. Could be more coming, I guess.
snepp Verified Member Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Play resumed and Hicksie batting? More like Hawk Harrelson after a Twins walk-off.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Ten thousand people, maybe more Maybe more, but I doubt it...

LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Good thing they're on the road this week. Otherwise, with 4 straight days of rain, by Friday this would be Florimon ranging deep in the hole to misplay another grounder...http://www.rybo.tv/storage/images/blog/graduate_benwater.jpg?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1274139087848
