Angels send Junk to Brewers to obtain Hunter Renfroe

Per MLB Trade Rumors the Angels have acquired outfielder Hunter Renfroe for pitchers Janson Junk, Elvis Peguero and Adam Seminaris. Lots of new bodies heading to the Halos early in the off season.

Boy, that IS cheap!!  Renfro would have been a decent option in a corner OF position.  The M.O. of our front office is hang back and pick and choose over leftovers.  They've never been bold and I don't see that changing until a new regime enters the scene.

It's hard to get a read on what the Brewers are doing here. On one hand, that looks like a large underpay for Renfroe. On the other hand, if there's one team that can't properly evaluate and develop pitching, it's the Angels and if there's one team that can properly evaluate and develop pitching, it's the Brewers.

Pretty much the Brewers MO. Deal guys about to get pricey.

Yes and no. They run a payroll well above other TRULY small market teams but they have a lot of contract obligations right now. This off-season is really interesting for them as they juggle what to do with a roster that’s aging through arb while working through the fact their payroll doesn’t have much headroom.
