Forget Correa. We'll get more bang for our buck spending that money on pitchers who we can envision being lights-out in the playoffs. Also, good riddance to Sano, Archer and Bundy. We can and should do better.

Gleeman, you mentioned that Archer's hip (normally you'd think it was his Shoulder) was a concern? Did he have problems with his hip earlier in the season? If it was just at the end, IMO it'll more of a fatigue  thing that can be eventually be overcome with strengthening. Thank you.

Kershaw and Verlander aren't "lights out" in the playoffs and they're two of the best pitchers of this generation.

Correa?  Who cares???.  He turned down 70 million guaranteed from the Twins for the next two years because it wasn't enough.  Why bother negotiating with an arrogant self promoter who just used the Twins for his own potential financial gain?

I am not defending Correa per se, just simple capitalism.  Correa for 2/70 is not fair market value for his services.  Why should a player take less money when he deserves much more?  Would any rational person do that?  Adam Smith says no.  Correa did too.

I don't know anything about Correa's personality BUT how much of the goings on with regard to his contract and/or expectations are driven by Mr. Boras?

He was turning down the length of the deal not the money.  If there was 8 years at 35M a year there would not have been an opt out.  These players and agents aren't stupid, they want the 8-10 year deals and teams are always willing to do it even when the last 3 years or more are not worth half the money they earn.
