Ugh, I was hoping that if my Game Thread intro day was going to end in a loss, at least the team would go down in history. 

Some nights you just run into a hall of fame pitcher, and there really isn't any over-analysis necessary.

Donaldson isn't exactly killing it, but Gio is rocking a sub .600 OPS and playing at best league average defense. Both he and Sanchez look like their the worst version of themselves on the Yankees; that's ahhhhh not good.

Misleading stat of the game: the Twins hit Verlander literally infinitely better the third time through the order.

Well, Ryan has to learn to adjust his rhythm, because temas know that if they break it, it gets to him. Plus, throw strikes, especially early in the game. Challenge the hitters. Trust stuf. But, man, if he doesn't get his call, or a batter makes him wait...he is...lost.

Too many walks. Coitton was lucky. Happily, when Contreras and Cotton go back to the minors, no waiver wire or anything of the sort. I imagine Contreras will join that small group of guys who made it to the Twins major league roster but never played in a game.
