ashbury Verified Member Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 C'mon Pelf. Show us that last game was just a fluke. And Dozier-zie up in the leadoff spot. Maybe the change gets both him and Hicksie going.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Willingham still sick I guess.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Hicksie finally moved downsie. Did Gardenhire pre-announce this as promised?
GCTF Verified Member Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Hicksie finally moved downsie. Did Gardenhire pre-announce this as promised? I'll assume it was announced from under a bus somewhere.
one_eyed_jack Verified Member Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 That lineup plus Pelfrey on the mound does not inspire a lot of confidence, but I thought for sure Correia would end up being the cure for the Angels hitting woes last night, so we shall see. Mauer had an outstanding game last night, hopefully he can keep that going. Tonight would be win number 6. That's same number of wins we had after 24 games on May 2nd last year. (God that first month was a living baseball hell.)
Alex Verified Member Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Hicksie finally moved downsie. Did Gardenhire pre-announce this as promised? Actually moved down twice in one day. Wasn't it after last game when he said he didn't want to hurt his confidence by moving him down and now they want him to feel more comfrtable...these messages are so confusing! Really, though, it's great to see that it seems to mean Mauer is locked into the #2 spot in the order with all this upheaval in the lineup today.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Nice first inning for Pelfrey. Consistently at 93 on the FSN gun.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Boy, a catcher's batting average can go from .217 to .358 in no time, this early in the season.
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Dozier made the pitcher throw 10 pitches -- doing a decent job as the leadoff hitter.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Dozier made the pitcher throw 10 pitches -- doing a decent job as the leadoff hitter. The ESPN feed I'm looking at shows only 7, including 5 fouls. Maybe they ran out of space to log the others?
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 I hope the Twins don't go 1-2-3 in their half of the second. That will bring Hicks to lead off the third; what's the point of dropping him down if he leads off anyway?
snepp Verified Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Here we go with the Hunter leadership crap again.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Pelfrey tipping his pitches. More hesitation in the windup when he guns it. When he rocks back and forth without so much pause, its been offspeed.

GCTF Verified Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 any discover if you can listen online for free? Nope, you'll have to pay for it like the rest of us.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Nice hard-earned walk for Hicksie. And the Florimonster remains an RBI Machine!
GCTF Verified Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Shhhhhhhhhh! Exactly, there might be some 12 year old Angels fans reading this site.
GCTF Verified Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Joe with a couple of are-bee-eyes. Maybe the mouth-breathers will start warming up to him.
Scheherezade Provisional Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 I'd say Mauer has his vision at the plate back.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Substantial velocity drop in the stretch.
GCTF Verified Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Ruh-roh, Big Pelf about to give some or all of it back.
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 A double play would be nice at this point.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Bourjhos and trout on base, pujols at the dish. Double steal?
glunn Community Moderator Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Looking at this on the internet it appears that the ump is calling balls when Pelfrey is throwing strikes.
GCTF Verified Member Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 A double play would be nice at this point. There it is! (3 runs too late).
