Rawlings is now announcing the three finalists at each position for the Gold Glove award.

The first announced was AL Starting Pitcher, and a former Twins pitching is on the list. Congrats, La Makina!

It's depressing, but I'd vote Correa.

Simmons, for all his many flaws as a hitter, was still very good defensively and is a reasonable finalist. Isiah Kiner-Falefa deserved some love; he was also very good again.

Congratulations to both Berrios and Simmons, they deserve it! Hope they both win! Simmons got Twins most valuable Defensive Player and Golden Glove selected him as a finalist. Now who am to believe, them or fans who look at Simmons through negative filter magnify glass?

I would believe those that watched the games. Gold glovers are far to often a reputation/popularity/mystery pick, and very often not the best defender. I didn't use negative filters to watch Simmons, but I saw him make at least twice as many errors as they scored him with. Official scorers are charity workers. But Simmons has a reputation, regardless of whether he can live up to it. Hell, Dozier even won a Gold Glove!

Berrios deserves it. Too bad he isn't a Twin, now.

I think Correa should probably win the GG. Nicky Lopez of KC was great on the DP. Kiner-Faelfa plays shortstop for a reason. Simmons defense (errors) seemed to hurt the Twins as much as help sometimes; just didn't look like the best defensive shortstop in the league.

I agree with the position on Simmons. Lots of booted balls, poor range. DRS/Range Factor isn't a valuable stat for infielders at all when it comes to teams who use the shift a lot (Twins).

The award is no longer merely a straight vote, though. 25% of the vote is awarded by SABR defensive stats while managers and coaches account for the other 75%.

There is a lot of Simmon's hate on this site; he was the best defense player on the team and his range made Arraez look like a turtle with a bad leg.

He had two fewer errors than during two of his previous GG years.
