Adam Schefter has to go. Everything he says these days is propaganda from either a GM, an agent or the league. He'll spin anything in any way his "sources" want as long as he gets the scoop. He's no longer an actual journalist.

For all I know, Cook IS the victim, but because it's coming from Schefter, I automatically think whatever he says is a big fat untruth.

There is a lot more to the story, but I suppose this isn't the place to discuss that. It does sound like he will be allowed to play going forward.

I don't see the issue with Schefter here, he just spits out whatever his sources say as fast as possible on Twitter. Looking over his tweets, he basically posted Cook's agent's statement, then the Vikings' statement, then Cook's attorney's statement, and then shared an ESPN article that covered both parties' claims in the pending lawsuit. I don't see what the propaganda is.

I can see why Corrente called the penalty. While it’s incredibly strict, Marsh was staring down the Steelers sideline. When I watch the video, it looks kind of like he’s silently taunting them. Taunting is almost entirely a subjective call.

But here’s what I want to know. If Corrente had a problem with what Marsh did, then why does he feel the need to hip check Marsh? Replay has showed that he initiated that. That is a more flagrant act than what Marsh did.

I just lost a lot of respect for Corrente.

He spit out Cook’s uncorroborated take of the situation before he presented an account by the accuser or any other details. Doing so allowed Cook the opportunity to set the narrative. That’s 100% pure propaganda and Schefter facilitated it.
 

Even Schefter admitted he ran with this story wrong. But he’ll keep pulling this crap because putting his name on a red hot tweet before anyone else does is more important to him than doing his job the right way.

That's just the nature of Twitter and reporting at this point, Cook's agent got out ahead of the allegations and put a statement out there, so that's what everyone saw first - I don't like how this works either, but that's how things work in this day and age. If it were the opposite way around, would it be propaganda on the part of the plaintiff for getting her side of the story out first?

If he ever tweeted out the other side of an issue, it would the first time. I think that's the point. He's well known for doing PR work more than reporting, at this point. Much like certain MLB writers that only tweet out what owners want/say.....or certain agents.

Got it, though you would hope readers would understand this, but then again, critical thinking is not something common on social media.

Not defending Schefter, but I'm pretty sure the scope of his job is to just put his name on red hot tweets first.

It appears that way, but that’s not a journalist. Msybe I’m just annoyed that Twitter holds value these days. 
 

Nope, upon further consideration Schefter is a large part of WHY people mistake Twitter for news and/or journalism. He’s a huge part of this ‘mid-information’ age.

The savviest move last offseason was restructuring Barr’s contract so he’s a free agent after this season. He’s damaged goods now, sadly.

They would have saved more money if they would have cut him, and potentially could have found the guy to replace him. Actually, looking at the deal in Spotrac, he costs $9.8M on the 2022 cap without actually being under contract, since they tried to save that money for this season. Oops.

Good win today. It’s about time they remembered Justin Jefferson is on the team. Pass him the ball and good things happen. What a crazy concept.

Well, it turns out when Cousins pushes the ball down the field, doesn't give up on 3rd and long, and plays aggressive on 4th downs, they can actually win games! Just throw the ball to Jefferson and good things will happen.

And good game from the defense against a strong offense. They played really well without some key pieces.

Interesting tidbits during the post game. Zimmer said he went up to Jefferson directly during the week and told him he was going to get the ball more.

I’m curious who else helped out Klint Kubiak this week? Because play calling was not an issue today. In fact, I was shocked at some of the play calls on offense. Whether it was the QB coach stepping in to help, or Klint had Gary Kubiak on FaceTime, it worked.

That's clearly on the coaches.....the play calling was very different. As it should be.
