stringer bell Verified Member Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 LF candidates have the hits tonight, Garlick with a long ball.
Longdistancetwins Verified Member Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 Pretty ugly right now. My first view of the Twins this year. But, hey, only ST, and just a sad, sad day overall to put things in perspective.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 Happ couldn't look much worse right now... methinks he needs more time to get ready for the season.
BeatTheRich Verified Member Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 On the plus side, 5 homers, including a tape-measure shot from Sano. Had our pitching been a little less hapless... Max is not looking good right now, and it's not for lack of effort. Three more KOs while hitting cleanup.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 27, 2021 Author Posted March 27, 2021 Saturday morning cartoons have gone the way of the dodo. Now cartoons are an on demand thing you can watch late into the night, rather than something to trick you into doing the poor richard's almanack thing of getting up early even when you don't have to. And to get you to want to buy cheaply constructed plastic toys which may have tortured you long term by fostering unrealistic expectations. No matter how hard i try, i won't be able to turn into a car like an autobot. Er... sorry. I just started typing and it all came out. Anyway, enjoy the Twins game, even if you slept in a bit! Rays:0. Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 Just tuned in ... who’s in the booth with Bremer?
BeatTheRich Verified Member Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 We've got ourselves a shortstop. Bang bang. Quick release. I think Jorge and Simmons are going to be a terrific duo.
ashbury Verified Member Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 We've got ourselves a shortstop. Bang bang. Quick release. I think Jorge and Simmons are going to be a terrific duo.Not an impressive throw from our second baseman, when trying to double up a fast batter-runner. But yes, a super pivot made up for it, by an eyelash.
BeatTheRich Verified Member Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 How close to Haight and Ashbury were you? I lived at Haight and Clayton (a block away) in the early, ahem, '80s. Long time ago.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 27, 2021 Author Posted March 27, 2021 They are 1-0, i see. How come?
BeatTheRich Verified Member Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 Interesting approach today: 7 innings, 7 relief pitchers, an inning each. Several have looked good. No one has stood out, although I'm only half-watching. Maybe Stashak. Colome gave up a hit but struck out the side.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 27, 2021 Author Posted March 27, 2021 So they scored on one of our relievers, and we ain't returned the favor? Fair enough... "single on soft grounder to the catcher" sigh. I would be happier if they bunted for a hit, but oh well.
BeatTheRich Verified Member Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 My sister-in-law is at the game. She says the shrill whistler heard on the telecast is right in front of her. I've asked her to bop him on the head with a bat. If you're watching and notice the whistling stop, you'll know what happened.
BeatTheRich Verified Member Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 So they scored on one of our relievers, and we ain't returned the favor? Bats still in hibernation, apparently. Very quiet. Only noise being made today is by that **** whistler.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 27, 2021 Author Posted March 27, 2021 "Flies out to center fielder in foul territory" Quality gameday updating. Wish i'd seen that!
BeatTheRich Verified Member Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 Little bunny foo-foo style? Game over. She hasn't asked for bail money, so win-lose, I guess.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 27, 2021 Author Posted March 27, 2021 Game over. She hasn't asked for bail money, so win-lose, I guess. Good to know. Gameday is still stuck with 2 outs in the bottom of the 8th.
BeatTheRich Verified Member Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 Gameday is still stuck with 2 outs in the bottom of the 8th. Gameday operator cut out early to avoid the traffic? Two pop outs and a KO at our end, so the same ol' same ol'. This game was for the benefit of management; they needed to see which relievers were making the cut. Cut-down day, I think.

Long time ago.I lived for a time on a street called Ashbury. In the Twin Cities metro area, LOL. That is the derivation of the screen name. I did live in the Bay Area a couple of times, but never on your street.
