Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 In a tweet minutes ago by the Pioneer Press's Charley Walters, he wrote: Joe and Maddie Mauer expecting Twins. "Were both really excited and couldn't be happier," the Twins' All-Star catcher said Wednesday. I don't know if this is Minnesota Twins news completely, but it is Twins news on a couple of counts... Remind me of when former Twins utility infielder Denny Hocking's wife had twins. He was said to have said, "I'm really glad I don't play for the 76ers!"

Congrats to Joe... Here's hoping for 20 fingers and 20 toes.
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted February 28, 2013 Author Posted February 28, 2013 Confirmed by Twins PR Director Dustin Morse.
Pius Jefferson Verified Member Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Who said Joe Mauer didn't have any extra base power.
Chance Provisional Member Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Here's to hoping he has a boy and girl so he can name them Minnie and Paul! honestly though I wish them good health through the pregnancy and hope they get two beautiful healthy children. This is definitely Twins news.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Who said Joe Mauer didn't have any extra base power. I didn't realize you could get someone pregnant only getting to first base all the time.
Nick Nelson Site Manager Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Nice to hear. Good for them.
ashbury Verified Member Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Came here expecting a gibe about double plays, leaving disappointed. They may be expecting twins at the moment but I imagine Gardy will talk them into triplets.

LastOnePicked Verified Member Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Finally, some auspicious news for the team. In order to break our curse, they must be named Morris and Viola, they must be baptised beneath the center field batter's eye, and pine tree saplings must be planted in their honor. I'll prepare the ceremonial fires!
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Kids are great, even when the are teenagers....good luck to the Mauers.

Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted February 28, 2013 Author Posted February 28, 2013 I did get confirmation from Hocking that it was his line (via Twitter)... I think it's hilarious.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Was Cuddyer already an ex-Twin when his girls were born? Congrats to the Mauers (and it does look promising for them to have at least 1 boy given Joe & his brothers).
