Just tuning in. Looks like there was a no-hitter in progress but Rocco removed the starter anyway. Anyone have any thoughts about this? Methinks managers have gone overboard coddling arms with strict pitch counts.

I came late I don’t who started, probably a reliever. I believe that limiting pitch counts makes pitchers weaker and therefore causes more injuries

occasionally, when circumstances dictate, ok. Like today, DHer in front of 7 games in 5 days.

But not every 5th day for over a month. That has effects on a staff well beyond that days game.

I wouldn't advocate for it in a normal 162 game season. But in this shortened season, I think it's a viable strategy if you have a deep enough pen, as the Twins seem to have. Again, the Twins don't have any relievers that have pitched more than 17 innings so far this season. They have done a good job of managing workloads thus far.

Its possible there was some snark in Ash's post.

Do you have any evidence for this?

uh, pray tell...what is Barmer's first name?

(Checks roster) Make that Farmer. Buck Farmer. Don't know how that typo slipped through.

Serious question, here: when it's a close play and the first baseman needs to cross the line to make the play, what is the rule about interference, and who interferes whom? On this play, Sano touched the base with this foot, then gave the batter-runner a little push for safety's sake, and since the play is technically over there can't be interference. Suppose the play had been a little closer still - who needs to be the one to avoid contact in this game of chicken?

1 million percent chance of a Donaldson PH in the 7th.

I've done the math.

I majored in math in school, and I gotta say, folks: the math checks out.

I believe the runner always has the right of way, as they cannot leave the base path without being calling out.

The guy who isn't 300lbs, if he knows what's good for him

Man, normally you'd be happy that your pitching has only given up 2 runs over 13 innings today, but with this offense, the margin for error is so slim. I don't get why the Royals and Tigers pitchers are just owning our hitters.

i believe a defensive player always has the right of way in making a legitimate defensive play.
