Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted January 31, 2020 Posted January 31, 2020 Also, speed and balance are dumb categories to weigh equally to contact patience and power. What year is this, 1985? And there's the rub that often takes down these kinds of ratings. Equally weighting all categories rarely leads to accuracy because virtually nothing in life carries balanced weight, especially when you reach five categories.

TFRazor Verified Member Posted January 31, 2020 Posted January 31, 2020 Is there a prize for being ranked Number One? Like a 1 run handicap, or a year's supply of juiced balls? Desperate times these.First 500 fans get free trash cans

MN_ExPat Verified Member Posted January 31, 2020 Posted January 31, 2020 They ranked each team on 5 categories. Here are the categories and how they ranked the Twins on each: Contact: 19 | Patience: 8 | Power: 10 | Speed: 23 | Balance: 10 Power 10th?!?!?! OMG. You can't make this up.Apparently ESPN's trained monkey snoze berry pickers did just that.
TwinsFan268 Provisional Member Posted January 31, 2020 Posted January 31, 2020 What the heck were they thinking? We have Cruz, we have Donaldson, we have other players like Garver & Sano & Kepler & Rosario. We have 6 30+ home run hitters? How do they rank us 6th?

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Lol yeah, who the hell wants "balance" when you can just hit 300+ home runs? More importantly, what does "balance" even mean and why is it important? At least speed can be quantified and is useful, whether it be stolen bases or advancing runners an extra base. "Balance" means nothing, it's just a thing that looks good on a spreadsheet.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Lol seriously? Is that a joke article. I guess they were last year but after all this stink they still have them at 1?I have no real problem putting the Astros at one, they're a very good lineup. I could list 3-4 teams to put at number one and have no real quibbles with it. Where it gets laughable is that the Yankees are nine and the Twins are 12. They're in the mix of the top five, at minimum, and I'd throw the Dodgers in there with the Astros. That's probably the top four.
