Game Thread: Twins vs. Detroit 5:10 PM PST (7:10 PM CDT) 8/23/2019

Harper should not enter the game. He might be the worst in the pen.

[Aggies7]

Are there any other teams in pro sports where the fans in attendance don’t boo bad play?

[USAFChief]

FFS put a first baseman at first base

It's not that hard, A-Ray. Tell, em. Aggies.

Aggies: "it's incredibly hard."

[Aggies7]

He put together three good outings in a row according to Dick

[Danchat]

Detroit looks like a AAA team on paper, but tonight, the Twins are playing like a AAA team.

[IndyTwinsFan]

Gonna give back those 2 runs Sano just got for us. I can sense it already.

[Blake]

I see the Twins are working on giving back the runs they got.

[gocgo]

Didn't think we were in trouble for the division until tonight.

The way Duffey and May have been pitching lately, yeah he is definitely the weakest link.

[Hawkeye12]

If we'd had Adrianza in right and Gonzalez at first, we probably get the first two guys out this inning.

[operation mindcrime]

What's Ryne Harper's nickname? It should be DFA!!!!!

[MNT1996]

17 hits given up. To the 2019 Detroit Tigers.

Nope, because a Triple A team should be able to beat Detroit.

[Danchat]

We probably should have optioned Harper and kept Littell up here... the clock is striking midnight on Harper's magical season.

Exactly as I suspected. SIGH.

[Aggies7]

Detroit looks like a AAA team on paper, but tonight, the Twins are playing like a AAA team.

AAA as in the Minnesota interscholastic association?

[USAFChief]

Turns out soft tossing 30 year old career minor leaguer relievers who depend on slow curves don't have a shelf life.

[jz7233]

Harper should be dropped early. He is not going to survive in the playoff as I stated some time ago. Littell is better. Way better.

[gocgo]

And yeah...Harper ain't fooling anyone and he's not getting fixed.

[IndyTwinsFan]

If even that well.

[HawksNest]

It’s over for Harper, has been for awhile.

More bad decisions for Rocco

Sano could throw the ball all the way to first in the air, too. Either way.

[obtusebanter]

Don't know how Harper wasn't part of the July purge.  I'd rather have Magill.

[jz7233]

Let Harper finish the inning now. The more runs he gave up, the more likely he's going to be demoted.

I’d take magilla gorilla at this point

This should be our 2020 ticket renewal slogan!!!!!

ftfy.

I've been misquoted! Lawyer! Lawyer!

[MNT1996]

It's sad to watch the guys struggle so much at home lately. Twins fans have had to endure some rough times the past 9 years and it would be nice to give them solid base ball during a hopeful season at Target Field.

On a positive note, Castro had a hell of a game behind the plate tonight. This game would be worse without some really good work from him.

[jz7233]

Jimenez is in. Game is almost over.
