ashbury Verified Member Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 Brad Brach's name comes up here now and then, but today MLBTR has an item (via LaVelle) talking up the chances of Brach coming to the Twins. TD's Offseason Handbook pegged him at around $6.5M for a year; MLBTR guessed him requiring 2 years for a little less per year. While he's not the high-end guy that would move the needle, I think he'd be an improvement over whoever is thought to be at the bottom of the current bullpen. His 2018 was up and down, but he finished strong. I assume TD stalwart Brach Beauchamp would be in favor.
mike8791 Verified Member Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 No can do. He is a free agent and we don't sign them. Instead, we only like DFA players so we can show all of baseball how much smarter we are than everyone else. Signed, Derek and Thad, aka "THE WONDER BOYS"
SF Twins Fan Verified Member Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 I don't have a ton of interest in him. He has a career 9.5 K/9 but also has a 4 BB/9, which is pretty bad. He's probably better than Magill and Duffey but I would hope for better.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 We probably sign PDQ Brach instead.
ashbury Verified Member Posted January 18, 2019 Author Posted January 18, 2019 "THE WONDER BOYS"As a point of information, Thad Levine is 47 years old. Terry Ryan was a curmudgeonly 41 when he was elevated to the GM chair in 1994. We probably sign PDQ Brach instead. Most scouts bypass the University of Southern North Dakota at Hoople, so we might have a market inefficiency to exploit by doing so.

And in 20+ years with the Twins, Ryan's regime produced ONE Playoff Victory! With the offseason dumpster dive continuing, looks like Falvine following in Ryan's footsteps. Can history repeat itself?
